80s innit

The Last Starfighter - So much potential yet so bland. Awful script - 4.5/10

They Live - Some nice commentary but also a whole lot of strange decisions (30 min fight scene?!?) - 6.4/10

RoboCop - All the satire is ace, all the 80s run-of-the-mill action is meh - 7.2/10

Masters of the Universe - Pretty awful, but was worse in my memory. Some decent scenes and FX - 3.9/10

Critters - Almost everything about this one is mediocre: Acting, creature-effects, comedy. Gremlins this ain't - 5.1/10

Predator - the creature is great in concept and execution, a lot of Arnold-related awkwardness. Decent enough - 6.5/10

48 Hrs - Nolte is fantastic in this, Murphy great too. Script is a mess. Good atmosphere throughout - 5.8/10

In the middle of High Rise on Film 4.

Loved Kill List but this is utter wank so far

I watched that last night but not on Film 4. I liked all his other films but this was overlong and fairly dull. My favourite bit by far was when the credits started rolling to the sound of Industrial Estate by The Fall.

Ah so that was The Fall, decent tune that.

Pity the film didnt pick up, came across as the sort of shite a film student who's smoked too much weed would try and pass off as art.

Could do with a Kodi film recommendation for tonight from any of the Barry Norman's on here.

Something that's not too long (ie over two hours) and genuinely good. Not bothered about the genre (apart from rom-com, thats a no-go)

Fire away, legs.

I watched Ghost Dog: The Way Of The Samurai last night. That's good and less than two hours long.

Was looking at something a bit more recent, or as i suspect are most recent films a crock of poop?

I havent seen that Ghost Dog one though, thats the Forest  Whittaker one isnt it?

yep that's the one. It was made in 1999 so not particularly recent.

Hell Or High Water is a good recent film. Although I haven't seen it Hunt For The Wilderpeople gets a lot of praise. I may be on that myself tonight. Swiss Army Man is also good but a little bit odd.

I watched this the other week and it was really good. Sounds dull but it isn't

Ghost Dog is pretty decent although it's pretty much just a remake of Le Samourai
