The end of Terminator 2

Just finished now on ITV2.

Is there anything sadder than when Arnie lowers himself into the molten steel and gives the thumbs up to John Connor?

"I have to go away now John"

Always fucks me up, must be cos my dad left when I was two.

(serious question, could I get signed off on the sick for that or what?)

The ending of that film is perfect closure.

So, why have a T3?

Good question.

Anyway... Terminator 2 was absolutely great in the way that they moulded Arnie into the perfect father; "He'll never get mad at him, never get drunk at hit him, etc. etc."

You can watch the kid fall in love with him too... It's crazy. Also, you can tell that Sarah totally respects the Terminator inhuman abilities as well. The single minded pursuit of protection; the lack of deception; efficiency of killing; etc.
