Worst. President. Ever.

This is a question mainly for the Americans on the Forum - but anyone can join in - Who is America's worst ever President?

 

I'd vote for the incumbent shitwit, but I'm permanently angry when I think of his brickable Chickenhawk smirk, so I know I can't make any objective comparisons as far as he's concerned.

 

Nixon was a crook, but (I'm told) he introduced some socially-liberal measures that would put many subsequent Democrats to shame.

 

Warren G Harding is often considered amongst the worst - inspiring the nation with quotes like "I am not fit for this office and never should have been here."

 

Then there was William Henry Harrison, who caught a cold at his inauguration, which developed into pleurisy and killed him, after 31 days in office. If only Dubbya had looked to "Old Tippecanoe" as a role model!

Nixon had some high points, such as reaching out to China and breaking the Sino-Soviet 'alliance' (even though in reality it only 'really' existed in the minds of the paranoid western policy makers - they were two completly different brands of Communism)

 

Bush has done nothing, nothing remotely positive in his eight years that I can think of, he literally doesn't give a fuck about anything except his own elite backers.

 

I'd go as far as saying - and this isn't a throwaway comment by any means - that he is the worst single thing that has happened to this planet since Hitler - the world will feel the repercussions of what he's done (and not done) for fifty years and beyond.

I saw an interesting TV progamme a year or two ago which showed how China repaid that reaching out. By supplying and supporting the Khmer Rouge so they could attack Vietnam to punish the Vietnamese for going to Russia for help instead of China in the Vietnam war.

China used the accord with the US along with the Vietnam war fall-out to paralyse the US in South East Asia and increase their power there. Even along to supporting Pol Pot.
