The Assassination of Jesse James by the coward Robert Ford.

Just got back from the cinema and is an astonishingly good film.

 

It's 2 and three quarter hours long but never felt long as the story was superbly crafted and told. Affleck and Pitt both give exceptional performances and Affleck , in particular, should be getting at least a nomination for the Oscars.

 

I'm sure Chris or someone could right a far better review but I fully reccommend going to see it, one of the best of the year.

Just got back from seeing it. Immensely powerful film.

Strangely this film hasn't had any exposure here, it opened on a very limited release in September and you'll struggle to see it anywhere right now. As for film of the year No Country for Old Men deserves a mention although those in the UK won't get the chance to see it until the new year.

With this film there were no surprises and you even knew when the assassination was about to happen! Not a bad film, but by no means a classic.

Raising Dawn is really good too. Watching that one about Afghani kites or something tonight as a freebie, not looking forward to it but my brother is insisting

That was poor, a slow burner with hammy acting, they even needed a narrator, a turkey.
