Marseille to win then we'd end up with just needing to win our two homes and draw out there. Doesnt really matter that much but would be better if they won, cant see it though so we'll just have to twat Marseille in France aswell

For answers to this thread, I asked this same question earlier in the Besiktas match thread and someone came up with a good answer there.

Worst case scenario is that we'd need to win the first two games and beat Marseille while scoring two or more goals. That'd happen if Porto beat Marseille and Besiktas, Marseille beat Besiktas and Marseille have a better goal difference than us.

 

Best case is if Marseille win tonight and get at least a draw in Besiktas. We'd then need to win our home games and would only need a point over there for us both to qualify.

yes, you meet a team that finished first, but that isn't always a bad thing.

No. The amount of points you win on your way of course matter, but not whether you finish first or second in the group.
