I've no issues with people who do, I know quite a few people who have done so in this Country (mainly abroad though)

I haven't used a prostitute as I don't think I'd have the bottle to meet up with them, I have however viewed the sites for prostitutes that live close by and some appear tidy.

When it comes down to it you have no idea if they are being exploited by someone and forced into doing it, do you?

So given that fact, I'll probably steer well clear.

I think you run a massively higher risk of taking advantage in a bad situation if you sleep with a prostitute than if you, say, employ a plumber.

Of course there are women who make a lot of money as 'escorts' and fully enjoy their job.

I'll have fifty quid of anyone's money they are in the minority compared to those dealing with drug and alcohol abuse, mental health problems, domestic violence, homelessness, being exploited/pimped etc

That said I'd legalise it over night and tax it. Bring in needle exchange programmes, refuse and shelters for abused women and alcohol and drug intervention programmes.

Just had a look on some local escort sites, apparently for 60 bar you can piss on a girl or be pissed on yourself. She'll even wear a school girls outfit if you want, but you have to pay for the dry cleaning.

Looking at a list of things they do is interesting. I wonder if they can do these things well ala a pornstar or what? Because I've never had the pleasure to meet a girl who can deep-throat without throwing up.

How does one legalise prostitution and tax the income?

Is it worth re-training to become a tax inspector and investigate the cheese breaths? Do i get a spunkometer to shove up some minge to guage earnings for the past year and tax it as i see fit?

You'd obviously get women/men not declaring earnings the same as you do in virtually every other profession out there.

However by legalising prostitution and registering sex workers you can target drug intervention and sexual health programmes. You can also link in homelessness and domestic violence support.

I wouldn't tax prostitution with the intention of making a shit load of money for the chancellor but for it to 'break even' on the cost of interventions and then actually save the NHS money longer term.

Very few women would choose prostitution were it not for economic necessity.

There are some women who simply see their sexual attraction as a commodity and earn well from it. There are far more whose attraction is simply their availability.

Even if prostitution were legalised there would always be women on the fringes, not good or attractive enough to make a legal living as a prostitute.

Broadly I am in favour of legalising prostitution, but I do not believe that it goes close to solving the problem.

They do in Germany. For example in establishments like this one:

FKK Artemis - High Class Erotic Wellness- and Saunaclub in Berlin, Germany

How do you legalise it? I guess they just decide there is nothing to gain from banning it.

In Norway the legislation is absurd; it's legal to sell sexual services but it's illegal to buy them.

When I was 20 I was posted to Germany and of course not far from the base there was a brothel. Your initiation on to the shift was to visit the brothel, usually after copious amounts of beer in the police club, then into a blue light cab and fall into the place.

I didn't know at the time but now I would compare it with being in a very long term relationship, at the time I though it perfunctory. I think I prefer to be with a women that wants me for my money long term rather than short term.

We spent a fair amount of time in there, not playing you understand but falling into the place after a drinking session with the latest new policeman posted in. We also got called to the place a lot to rid them of drunken airmen, so they didn't mind us ogling the women and watching the porn but not taking part.

I don't have a problem if we in the UK decided to legalise government run brothels, we get fucked enough by the state anyway.

That gagging sound when a girl goes to town on your Johnson is one of the most off-putting noises imaginable.

Just don't see how it could be taxed over here.

No-one likes taxes, especially single-mums and druggies on benefits, Can't see them signing up for it and would therefore carry on under the radar. Also why would a guy want to pay by direct debit or some such shit where his other half might find out, receipts left in trouser pockets etc.

Won't work over here, we are not liberal enough as a society.

Seduction is about love.

Prostitution isn't, it's about sex.

Sex is not purely mechanical, it's also emotional. Sex and love is intrinsically linked and, whilst I obviously don't love everybody I have sex with, there has to be some sort of connection for me to enjoy it.

Each to their own, as always.
