What evidence do you have for this statement?

I'll actualy give you evidence, very often one of midfielders will play a pass back to a centre half when looking for an option(even our best passer Alonso), but instead making an angle looking for the return ball, getting the head up and looking to make another simple pass further up the field, the midfielder will turn away and make his way back into position around the middle of the field, then the centre half is allowed to hoof it long.

This happens ALL the time, it is obviously acceptable from the manager's point of view. Giving away cheap possesion doesn't seem to be a major issue.

Rafa seems to be quite obsessed with statistics. To him we've had a good game if we manage more shots on goal than the opposition - never mind the quality of the chances or the style of play. Which is all the more odd given how well his Valencia team was capable of playing.
