That would be cool, I saw him do headstands at Reading '92. I always wanted to try some of the free toast he handed out at shows, but never enjoyed that luxury.

I'd certainly be amazed if they didn't play the UK as well; they were always appreciated here, and are massive anglophiles for some bizarre reason. Probably because of The Fall.

They always used to play there when I was a lad (which was good cos I went to university in Sheff) cos their tour manager was from there or something. So you could be in luck.

Incidentally Steve Malkmus and the Jicks are playing right here in Melbourne town this evening, quite a coincidence considering my other post in this very thread.

I wasn't going to go, but the 0.0312% chance of a secret Pavement reunion gig has tempted me...

I saw them at Leeds Poly yonks ago, maybe 1994ish. Then one of them played in the car park after (the drummer?) and my mate sang a song with him.

 

I then got drunk on Southern Comfort.

I've had a look at the last few lineups, and the thing that's struck me is how much good hip hop they have, which Glastonbury hasn't had for years. But really, it's all about Pavement and our own flushing toilet.

They're doing a couple of o2 shows. I think priority tickets were available from yesterday (my mate has four booked as he is with o2) and general sale is tomorrow, I'm not aware of any other dates they may have announced.

There are three confirmed dates in the UK so far - the ATP festival and two nights at Brixton.

 

Plus a show in New Zealand and several in Australia.
