Heard a tune in the background of a Youtube video earlier, and had to Shazam it to find out what it might be. It's a track called 'Life' by Charles Kreamer. The Youtube link to the track has been closed down but the track is available on all the usual streaming platforms.

I don't venture on this thread very often but thought some of you might want to check out Makaya McCraven's new album, Universal Beings. He's a jazz drummer & it's a live album (recorded across four different cities, with different bands) but he's gone back into the studio & looped some of the stuff, it's fucking amazing quite frankly...

Bit of a Dorothy Ashby vibe to it. Nice.

Monkey Mafia - Lion in the Hall

I like old stuff, I think... Anyway, great beats.

He was a great DJ, Jon Carter. His Live At The Social Vol 2 mix is right up there with my all-time favourites. Starts with Supa Cat, drops Tribe, throws in I Wanna Sex You Up and goes from there. Fantastic.

Just thrown it on now actually prompted by your post. Nice one.

Anderson Paak ft Kendrick Lamar - Tints Live on SNL

That’s ace. As soon as Kendrick sat on the drum riser though, I thought he was taking a risk. That cymbal crash right down his ear clearly hurt from the way he recoiled. Great performance though.
