Is there anyone in the country who still actually feels any sympathy for these negligent snobby twats? I mean I'm sorry that their irresponsible, terrible parenting has resulted in the loss/possible murder of their little girl, but they have no-one to blame but themselves.

I'm sick of seeing them on television and in the newspapers. I'm sick of people campaigning for money so these rich negligent cunts can continue scouring Europe to ease their considerable guilt. I'm sick of that tart carrying around that fucking teddy bear everywhere she goes to try and garner sympathy when she should be in a jail cell.

It's about time the police charged these people with criminal negligence, and if the poor little lass is found dead are their grounds to charge them with her manslaughter? It's been said before that if two parents from a council estate in Kenny had gone to the pub for a pint and this had happened you just know that social services and the CPS would have come down on them like a shot. The elite protecting the elite and it makes me sick.

If she is alive, I would suspect she's being better looked after by more loving, attentive people than her birth parents anyway, so fuck 'em. The poor girl probably doesn't know any different anyway; she probably hardly knew her parents anyway.

Can't argue with any of that Chris. I went round to my mum's yesterday as it was her birthday and the Sunderland game was on the TV. The players all had Madeline t-shirts on.

As I said to her I don't recall any of this coverage when Ben Needham went missing in 1991.

The simple fact is that had they not left a three-year old and two young children on their own then she'd never have gone missing.

As for the Council Estate comment spot on. There seems to total empathy with their plight (especially from the Mail). You can't help but wonder (and this has been discussed with my family and friends) that had her parents been a couple of manual workers from a council estate would the coverage be so sympathetic.

Jeez, imagine if it was a single mum involved? The Mail would explode in a sea of self-righteous pomposity.

To be honest, no, I'd actualy forgotten. I hope to god she's alright though, even if it doesn't look good. I think If I were in that situation I'd want as much fuss around as possible for aslong as possible, it is, afterall a little girl wether the parents were at fault or not. It's a little girls life. Thousands must go missing around the globe daily not getting as much publicity, but like I said, it's still a little girls life and I personally would be walking streets night and day, country by country for my little girl.

Can I just say that I was left alone with my younger sisters as a kid and it never did us any harm. My parents were excellent and if any misfortune had happened to any of us it would not have been due to any alleged negligence that you cunts are on about, rather it would be down to the wickedness of an evil pervert.

Who would relish the oppertunity the negligence would present.

Would you leave your car door open and expect nothing to happen to it?

I don't actually disagree with that. I think there should be better co-ordination between police forces across the entire continent, now that we are all one big happy Euro Super State (© Daily Express).

More criticism of everyone but themselves. What a surprise.

As for their catholic faith...I was wondering about that. Don't they believe the Pope (whom they visited in a blaze of publicity) is God's representative on earth? Surely with such favour bestowed upon him from the Almighty, the bloke should be able to conjure up the little lost girl in no time?

And back to my chief complaint about how the McCanns social status is driving the media's obsessive hunt for Maddy, could you imagine a downtrodden, single parent asking the Pope for help?

Mother: "Your Eminence! Please ask God to bring back my missing girl!"

Pope: "Who's the daddy?"

Mother: "We're divorced!"

Pope: "Divorced? Well get the fuck outta here, heathen."

not only that, but there would be a campaign to get the mother banged up for neglect.

They may be guilty of being temporarily bad parents but suggesting criminal negligence and especially manslaughter is about as wide of the mark as you can get.

Not sure I would have put it all quite like that, but I can't really disagree with anything you've said there.

You, bud, never cease to amaze me. You are quite prepared to pontificate about the rights of criminals and the other drains on society yet are quite happy to criticise the efforts of doubtless distraught parents who just want to find their child. By saying you agree that you "suspect she's being better looked after by more loving, attentive people than her birth parents anyway, so fuck 'em. The poor girl probably doesn't know any different anyway" you are proving that you are a cunt. Better looked after? Do you think so? Do you think Maddie thinks so - if she's still alive? Do you agree with the "fuck 'em" comment do you?

Never thought I'd ever say this, but Red Mist is spot on.

Including the bit where he called the family "blueshites"? Aren't you a decent bloke.

I would personally hope that the papers might actually start to publicise the crisis in Darfur. What a shame footballers can't wear t-shirts and wristbands to publicise the disaster there instead.

What a shame? Don't be fucking stupid. There is nothing wrong with this issue being highlighted in this way. It doesn't make it "a shame" that it was this and not Darfur, Zimbabwe or Palestine.

Yeah, he'd probably pop out for a pint halfway through

Ha Ha. Very funny. Can you make any more jokes surrounding this girl's disappearance? Wasn't it you who made that joke about "Jordan's blind baby" a few months ago? At least you're consistently a shit of a human being.

At least the original poster apologised for the tone of his post, although it doesn't make the abuse of the parents or media attention any less shitty.

They should never have left a 3 year old and 18 month old twins alone, it doesn't matter if they were over the road or 3 miles away, they left them alone.

The actual odds of someone coming in and snatching one of them though is miniscule, but there are hundreds of different ways children can hurt themselves if they're left alone especially in a strange place and they shouldn't have left them. It was neglect, no matter how many times people defend them saying they're devoted parents. Devoted parents don't leave 3 kids alone like that, not when they could have hired babysitters - it's not as if they haven't got the cash.

That said, as much they need to shoulder some of the blame - you can't blame them for doing whatever they can now to try and get her back and they don't deserve what they are going through now. Their 4 year old daughter may be dead and if they believe putting her face on every car in the world might help get her back - who are we to argue?

As for the fact that other kids haven't received the same publicity I agree that it's not right but that's not their fault is it.

It is neglect. Though if have the support of the Daily Mail, it's called a 'misjudgement'. That said, only someone with a heart of stone could not feel sorry for the torture they're undoubtedly suffering.

I feel they'll find the answer to her disappearance somewhere in the town; it strikes me as an opportunist grab, and perhaps because somebody has noticed they've left the children alone on concurrent evenings.

Could they have done something themselves? Killed her, or maybe had an accident, head bump, death, panic, blood, tried to wash it away, get rid, etc?

While I think leaving a kid alone in a Hotel room is wrong, what concerns me greatly this judgemental, holier-then-thou, proper parenting brigade (in want of a better word). This fear of 'Paedogeddon' seems to be becoming more of a stranglehold with parents less and less inclined to let their children play with their mates for fear of them being snatched. The chances are so remote that I think it it is a worse risk alienating childrens needs to socialise and play outdoors

Rem, while I can understand the sentiment, condemning two people for locking their young children in a hotel room while on a family holiday in a foreign country is hardly being 'holier than thou'.

I mean, what kind of people do that?

Well OK what I'm getting at is a side issue- the eagerness of people to jump on the fault of parents. It seems to breed this overprotective mentality, which in my opinion is more damaging

I haven't been following the story too much all I know is what's been posted on here but like you say locking children is a shitty thing to do and the Princess Diana style reporting does make you feel uncomfortable

Equally you could argue about the eagerness of the parents and friends to blame to the Portuguese police.

Firstly not disagreeing is not the same as agreeing. I didn't agree with everything Chris said, or the way he said it, but I didn't disagree with any of it.

These people left young children alone. The buck stops with them.

You seem awfully keen to absolve these people from any blame whatsoever though. Funny, cos you were so quick to rush to judgement of the parents in the case of that other little girl who got killed.

What a shame? Don't be fucking stupid. There is nothing wrong with this issue being highlighted in this way. It doesn't make it "a shame" that it was this and not Darfur, Zimbabwe or Palestine.

Well, this non-story is certainly keeping more worthy stories off the front pages, and if footballers have the capacity to publicise an issue, surely it would be better to publicise thousands of people being killed in Africa than one missing kid. I do think it's a real shame that so much effort is being put into this, and practically no effort being put into ending the disaster in Darfur. I think people are being emotionally blackmailed into "caring" about this missing child.

Ha Ha. Very funny. Can you make any more jokes surrounding this girl's disappearance?

As soon as I think of any, I'll be sure to post 'em.

Better to be a shit than to have shit for brains.
