I've just started jogging. I don't know which I hate more, studying or jogging. They are both just pain.

I think I am just predisposed to sloth.

Somebody once asked me why I used to run so far and I said long distance running teaches you mental strength and he said "Fuck off!" he's obviously never ran much.

I can imagine it does. You don't half have some conversations with yourself in your head when you get tired.

Do you notice your legs moving themselves without you consciously telling them whilst you are in full stride? It's a weird feeling at first.

I haven't noticed. I have a real problem with the voice in my head that says "Just stop! Why are you doing this to yourself? Life could be so much easier!"

I manage to block him out by shouting "lalala lalalala" really loud. But now the local kids think that I think I'm an ambulance.

Then the third voice. The one that says "Now that was very well done. Don't you feel good about yourself? Now here's some free drugs!"

That's the voice that I like.

Once you've been doing it for a while you will notice it and it's cool because you can think idol shite whilst running (ladies, football, music), I suppose what happens is you get to a fitness level where you can tolerate the pain and then you notice it less so your thoughts are less about stopping and more about whatever you want, until you hit the wall that is. That's a horrible feeling the first time you hit the wall, you'll be running along smoothly and suddenly you will lose your energy and it takes the most monumental effort to keep going after this point.

Congrats Dirk.

1) question, why did sis decide to go with SKI? I assume it is/was aplay on your last username, thinking on going back to it or?

2) Since this is plugging people and their skills in school, the wife won "Best postgraduate submission" from this http://www.enterprise-ireland.com/studentawards07. Looking forward to me being able to retire when she starts working...

DJLJ - Stouffer proposed my username for me pre sign-up, though thinking of changing it to Baroness Hyypiagirl IV. Well done Mrs DJLJ too - quite an achievement!

Rargh - Talking to me now are you?? ;) And keep *f off the gf!

Paul - I am indeed the artist formerly known as Mrs Skeet. I'm now back to being bigger (but not 'big') Dirk, or little Miss Rargh.

My sister's not a fully fledged lesbian, she's bisexual. She cried when Everton equalised in the 89 Cup Final but then she turned the other way and ended up with a season ticket in the Park End. Talk about confused.

Bit personal this, so ignore it if you like, but does that mean you're now de-Skeeted?

Aye, my final year begins in earnest tomorrow because I want to make sure my research project is the best I can possibly make it. Although I doubt I will be doing loads of work over the summer. I have a meeting coming up with my supervisor and the clinical psychologist I will be working with so I need to prepare for that and do some background reading otherwise I'm going to look like a right wally when I turn up for this meeting, if I'm clueless.
