Well, I wasn’t going to mention it (never did get my own thread) but it’s my birthday today.

Went downstairs for a bacon wrap and there’s a couple of cards on the table. One from my mom that she dropped round yesterday, and another that had come in the post this week and my missus had put aside.

had my breakkie then opened up the cards to find this…

Birthdays just aren’t what they used to be anymore are they?

a condolence card from the vets after having one of our rabbits put down last weekend isn’t quite the birthday greeting I was looking for.

Didn’t even have a fiver in it or anything.

I'd move it two slots to the left, personally.

The people in central Asia where we lived for many years enjoy horse, although I didn't care much for it. But rabbit is quite delicious. My German relatives raise a bunch of them in their barn just for meat. Seemed quite odd the first time we visited, but then they made a spaetzle with rabbit meat and once I tasted it I decided they were definitely on the right side of that line.

I’ve eaten both horse and rabbit and enjoyed both.
