That's fucking great.

Yup. Love a bit of Wilco when they really hit the spot.

Just read today that Arnett got Stephen Malkmus involved to score and compose for the show. So that's why it's such a kick ass soundtrack, because the boy knows what he's doing. Lo Fi, chilled-out heaven.

Not the worlds greatest Nine Inch Nails fan, (saw them at Glastonbury years agon and they were admittedly ace), but this is superb...

The entire gig is on Youtube from their Tension tour at LA Staples Centre. The audio is superb and the lighting show right throughout is as good as I've ever seen. At times breath taking, like a gig on board the Nostromo !

Thanks for the Wilco song above. Great stuff. I wasn't familiar with them. I play guitar a bit and that riff throughout the song was very relaxing. I listened twice to try to decipher the lyrics and what was going on. Seemed like it was a son remembering a father. Anyhow, wonderful stuff. Thanks Stu.

They've got loads of stuff that is in a similar sort of style to that Padre. Lovely band. Two of my favourites here (one that is quite apt actually):

Simple Minds.  Recently been looking through Youtube clips from late 70s/early 80s: there's loads.

1 - Jim Kerr moves/dances in exactly the same sad/odd way at 60 as he did when he was 20.

2 - Mike McNeil is much much better than I ever knew.  New Gold Dream (from The Tube Maybe?) shows his dexterity on the keys - fantastic.

3 - Real to Reel is their best album.

people do forget how 'cool' they were. obviously for the Stadium rock they get the stick they do and for some of their precious attitude when knowing they were amongst the biggest bands in the world for a short time. happenend to loads of 80s acts. taints their legacy a bit but before they really hit the big time they were a great, lean unit.

that vinyl box they brought out recently is all you need. New Gold Dream is my favourite, proper side a/ side b and no filler. always go back to it.

and I rip off- promised you a miracle, delivered you an ulcer- so for that i am thankful
