But they did have Overmars, Bergkamp, Anelka, etc in attack which is top quality. Also both Petit and Vieira scored goals and could pass very well from the centre, playing both Mascherano and Momo seems a little too defensive for Reading.. but hey we are winning so who cares.

I think so far this half its safe to say Momo will be 4th choice midfielder next season.

 

In all fairness we seem to be playing much like against Villa. We havent shown much quality and yet still find ourselves 0-1 in front.

Granted, but the set up in the centre is similar to that employd by Arsenal regardless of the quality of player. As D.I.C has said, the difference is in the qualities of the 4 attacking players around them.

Momo has been "boss" since he joined and a wonderful athlete, I remember at times last season we all thought he was first name on team sheet! But I'd rather it was one of Momo/Mascherano as opposed to both playing - one at the expense of Gerrard in the middle plus it is very defensive.

We know Rafa likes to play with 2 more defensive minded midfielders in the team and i would prefer them to be Mascherano and Alonso due to us keeping hold of the ball a lot better.

Neither really, he's been decent and made some good runs but nothing special.
