Are we going to have a separate thread for the Cheltenham festival, or use this one as an all purpose thread?

I'd prefer to keep this one for general and for any info and tips on a day to day basis and have a specific Cheltenham thread for info and views in the run up to March.

I thought Elegant Escape ran well and stayed on yesterday to finish behind Frodon and would be a value EW bet for the Gold Cup.

Agreed, although he'll need heavier ground I think. Very surprised that Nicholls wants to give Frodon a go in the Gold Cup.

All meetings off tomorrow. It’s like bird flu but in horses.

Is there a precedent for this? Will everything go back to normal on Friday or will there be no racing for the foreseeable?

I was planning to try a risky strategy tomorrow, laying outsiders in the 4/1 - 8/1 bracket in most or all of the jumps races with a heavy odds on favourite. With my luck this has probably saved me a fair wedge.

If you lay to liability you can only lose your stake, but your winnings are much smaller. You can set software to just take ticks or a percentage though.
