I'm really looking forward to watching Benny Hill in a jogging nappy waddling down the street with a gaggle of hand picked journos racing after him, shouting inane questions, which he totally ignores and then the shot cuts to the Tory stooge Kuennsberg who's standing in the rain ten yards away who says, with sincere face...

"fascinating".

And then I tweet "I thought rich, well brought up birds who pander to the every whim of the Tory state were supposed to be good looking and well dressed?"

Small victories.

I feel insane saying this given how far left most of my views are, but I don't blame her for doing it. If she'd have stopped him the worst of the right wing leave mob would've been in uproar at her and then you have the chaos that would've followed.

The smart option if it works out would be to allow it like she has done, with the confidence that it'll be blocked by the courts and/or the government will soon be going down anyway.

I've no interest in the Royals, I simply see a woman of her age being the target of some of the vilest scum in the country if she'd blocked it, with no idea of what they'll actually do or how far they'll go, and it just seems wrong.

I am right in saying that she had no choice anyway?

To be honest she probably doesn't care or even know what the fuck it all means. Her only worry is not pissing herself in public right now and to stop her husband from running peasants over.

No idea really, I don't know how it works between government/monarchy but am guessing that seeing as she approved of it she could've done the opposite. I remember Guardian saying she was in a no win situation somewhere earlier though I think, and agree with that.

I think the monarch has the authority  (in theory) to go against the Government on stuff, but they never exercise that authority because it would provoke a huge constitutional crisis and put their lucrative racket in jeopardy.

I got the impression she just goes with the advice of her Privy Counsellors and they wouldn't get involved in a negative sense unless there was illegality involved.

The leader of which is Jakob Rees-Mogg?

I’m sure all of the advice Lillybet received was impartial and gave the full picture and ramifications.

They serve no useful purpose that I can see they shouldn’t be involved in any politics at all and if they do have to be involved and simply just agree to whatever is put in front of them then what’s the point?

You want a monarchy to bring in tourists then fine but they should fund themselves and step out of anything political all it does is slow things down and cost money.

  • Bin off the Monarchy - use the space for tourism/community events;
  • Reduce all salaries of MPs/PM etc to bring them inline with the average job - you should be reaping great profits if you are in control of decisions of the country;
  • Build a blueprint that shows how leaving the EU will benefit the people of this country and the country itself;
  • Place tighter control around the press/campaigns with an aim to improve journalism and information.

Looks like Liz Windsor is about to meekly nod through whatever the Prime Minister wants.  I'm not saying she should do otherwise, but it does raise the question of what the fucking point of a "constitutional monarch" is supposed to be.

Get. Fucking. Rid.

Careful what you wish for mate, maybe some shite president doing the oligarchs bidding and with a massive concentration of power.

If we get a shit President, we can vote them out.  That's the bottom line: the "President Fred West, is that what you want?" argument doesn't wash.

What I wish for is a major constitutional overhaul to get get some democracy into this drizzly little archipelago.
