The Slags, Big Vern, Black Bag, spoilt bastard, Billy the fish et al were pure genius when I was growing up. Even their own ads stating how they weren't as funny as they used to be creased me up. I'd recommend getting Chris Donald's book giving the inside story. Very honest and very funny

Simon Donald has also written one called Him Off The Viz, which I have but keep not getting round to reading.  I follow him on Twatter though, and the regularity with which he calls Piers Morgan a cunt makes up for it.

I'll get onto both of them. Loved their sense of humour, cheers. Even the words they'd put in to break up the paragraphs (don't know the correct term here) on news articles they'd write up would end up being funnier than the actual article.

I always buy it at the airport. I hate self scanning stuff but luckily Viz flashes up as age restricted so someone has to come out to verify you while you hold the line up who all think you are buying a porno.

I like the silly picture jokes. There was one in a film set canteen and an actor dressed up as an astronaut asked another actor dressed as a cowboy "Fancy coming for a few pints after work?". The cowboy says "sorry, it's just not my scene"
