i like alonso, but i don't think he's physical or mobile enough to play in our league. he came in at a time when we had no one who could control the midfield and pick a pass, but i think we've moved on now and need more aggression and energy in that role. micha richards alongside gerrard would be fantastic.

What makes you think Micah Richards, a right back, would be a better central midfielder than Xabi?

he can get over the halfway line for starters, and tackle. and he isn't just a right back, the lad can play anywhere, a real talent. gerrard played a lot at right back when he was younger too.

momo can't pass the ball over 5 yards and adds nothing to our attacking game.

And Richards is the answer to that? Don't really know where you're coming from here.

have you seen the lad play? he was superb at anfield - up and down, steaming into tackles, closing down, controlling the tempo, picking out great little passes.

i'd make him our number one priority.

I've seen him a couple of times and he looks versatile, I just think it would be a risk putting an 18 year old in at the deep end in centre midfield for us and am happy with the players we have in that position.
