Reading Paul Auster's New York Trilogy at the moment. About 50 odd pages into City of Glass and quite enjoying it.

Got into him quite a bit lately. Read The Book of Illusions recently and thought it was a cracking read. A very, very talented writer.

I'm currently reading Against All Enemies by Tom Clancy, which is my first attempt at a Clancy book. It's been OK so far, good enough for me to have read about 350 pages, but not what I'd hoped for. Fingers crossed it improves.

Finally finished this last week, thought it was decent at best. Certainly won't be rushing out to buy anymore Tom Clancy in a hurry, although I will read some more by him at some point.

Just started The Big Blowdown by George Pelecanos. I already like it and got through about 100 pages in one sitting last night.

Just read Toby Frost's Isembard Smith Chronicles (Space Captain Smith, God Emperor of Didcot and Wrath of the Lemmingmen) - all excellent books about a captain of the British Space Empire and his adventures battling the ant like Ghasts. Sends up the whole science fiction genre really well. Highly recommended.

Just begun World War Z.

I know a few people on here have enjoyed Scott Lynch's The Lies Of Locke Lamora and Red Seas Under Red Skies.

This is just an early head's up to let you know that the third book - The Republic Of Thieves - is due out in October.

Just read that there is also a Locke Lamora prequel due in March 2013 titled The Bastards and the Knives. Lynch has been busy.

Had both books on order at Amazon for a while. However, I think the third part of the trilogy has been put back and the prequel will come first.

Almost through "Flowers for Alegernon", this is simply superb and im not even finished it yet. Its set around the diary of Charlie Gordon who is a learning disabled man of 32 working in a bakery sweepng floors who undergoes an experimental operation to makehim smart and tracks his progress from dim witted, naieve Charlie to a super intelligent man. I got to say I have a number of times got a lump in my throat.

Up next is Maus. Cant wait for that.

Just read the Hunger Games trilogy which starts brilliantly as a pacey, tense, dystopian thriller and goes downhill from there, ending as a pile of sub-Twilight teenage angt-ridden dross.

Got the first Walking Dead compendium up next which comprises the first eight graphic novels in one volume (about 50 issues of the comic).

Lucky lucky boy

Indeed. It was fucking boss and way better than the TV show (obviously). In fact I was surprised by how many changes they made for TV (in my view for the worse). I know there are probably too many characters in the book to translate memorably but even so, the plotting of the book is far superior to that of the filmed version.

This compendium left me hanging after the events at the prison came to a head; I can't fucking wait for the next one. It's superb stuff. I mean I love all that dystopian/post-apocalyptic stuff anyway, but this was fantastic.

Since Feb Of this Year I've read:

Sudden Death By Allison Brennan - Really good didn't see part of the ending coming.

Secrets In Priors Ford by Eve Houston -enjoyable read about the goings on in a small scottish village.

Epiphany By David Hewson- Couldn't get in to this book don't know why! can't put my finger on it!

The Stretch By Stephen Leather - excellent nice twist at the end love his books (part of the Dan Sheppard Series).

Katrina's Secert by Mary Janes Staples - Not bad saga book read better ones from her.

The Chinaman by Stephen Leather-Excellent stand alone book great ending.

My Shit Life So Far by Frankie Boyle - So-so some laugh out loud moments but a tad weird, don't know what drugs he was doing when he wrote this??

Target By Simon Kernick - A bit of a slow burner which is unusual for him but got there in the end!

London's Strangest Tales By Tom Quinn - Interesting collection of facts, like in the medival times was a place just off Cheapside where prossies plied their trade called Gropecunt Lane & why none of the thoughfares in the city itself are called Roads!

Red Eye by Richard Aellen- Nothing to write home about in fact I got bored with it.

The Love Killers by Jackie Collins- short but sweet for her!!

The Lizard's Bite by David Hewson - Excellent 2nd in the Nic Costa series, simmlar to Dan Brown but a much better writer!

Teacher Teacher by Jack Sheffield - 1st in a series excellent very funny read in one sitting on a rainy Sunday afternoon, read the 2nd book sometime last year that too way funny it's about Sheffield 1st headmaster job at a yorkshire village school in the early 80's.

It's Not About The Bike By Lance Armstrong - Quite good he does an indepth description of his cancer treatment, does have a few moments that raise a chuckle or two.

At the moment I'm reading two books Birdsong by Sebastian Faulks Just under 1/2 way though the book so far can't see what the hypes all about? & Grave Secrets By Kathy Reichs on about page 24 so far ok.

Anyone read Skagboys yet? Have a feeling it's going to be a bit shit and not sure if I should bother.

It only came out this week. Mine arrived today, but it's in a queue. I thought Porno was ace so I've got high hopes for this.
