Fowler Rumour??

Same fella from RAOTL who posted about Robbie coming back has posted below update. Not saying i believe him but can't help but wonder i suppose time will tell.

If you havnt been following,my source of the 'rumour' is an academy player whose ma is going out with my gaffer. He went to watch him play tonight(they beat Blackburn 2-1) and the topic of Robbie's arrival is common knowledge and no big deal as it were.

My boss didnt get chance to talk to the lad but he has just rung me to say,his ma made a point of talking to two of her sons main coaches afterwards, who confirmed that IT IS GONNA HAPPEN.No deadline has been set but obviously before the 1st Feb. They confirmed it is 'red tape' being ironed out and that contracts arent drawn up in half an hour.Could be City want him to play v Wigan in the cup on Sat as he is cup tied for us anyway-watch how he leaves the pitch etc...

Off the record, they summized that it could be pay as you play contract for an initial 18 months with further option down the line, depending on form and fitness. However Robbie looking for a bit of a guarantee that he will be given a fair crack of the whip, playing an integral part and not brought in just to appease the fans as cover, ala Mellor, ie. not getting a sniff unless 4 forwards out injured.

Make of it what you will but my gaffer says he quite happy to take a bet with anyone who wants to,as he will put his money where his gob is.At least you will know for sure by this time next week.

Team selection for Birmingham on Weds could be interesting.....

Read belwo in the Echo i am starting to read into anything now i need to stop and soon!!!!!!

However, there remains a possibility Benitez - who could yet move for a striker before the transfer window closes - will seek a short-term swap deal to augment his squad until Gonzalez returns in the summer

Very very interesting stuff. Ill be glued to the TV to see how he walks off the pitch saturday then. IF the possible deal isnt done before that.

So you'll be hoping that he walks off in a "I'm about to rejoin Liverpool football club" type manner?

I agree - it just doen't seem to be the kind of signing Rafa would go for - saying that though did he ever see Robbie play in his prime? If he did he might be tempted...

You mean "he might be fooled"?

I don't think so. If that was the case, we could bring in Romario while we're at it ;)

All through last season he talked about sitting down for hours in his spare time watching the games of old.

Sounded like he pretty much did a LOT of research on the club so I’m sure he’s seen lots of Fowler’s clips and goals.

Just remains to been seen if he thinks Robbie can do the business again here.

Why does every thread you post on turn into an "I HATE PARRY" thread?

This is relevant, I don't bring him up for no reason.

Singing Robbie would get the fans going and Parry knows it. His "edge of the seat signings", "where the best players are we will be there" and "we will never make the same mistakes of the summer" comments were all absolute bullshit and designed to appease fans short term - this will do the same. Although I'd love Robbie back.
