  1. 1. Which is your favourite season of The Wire?

I'm just about to start episode four of 'We own...'

And though it's not The Wire, it's really good.

Two things though that's stopping me properly engaging is the cast of The Wire popping up in completely opposite roles to their previous characters, especially Marlo as the Homicide cop and Jenkins looking so much like Eddie Guerrero I keep thinking they might drop a 'I lie, I cheat, I steal' in to dialogue for shits and giggles.

Apart from that I'll finish it in a day.

It’s the small, unnoticed details, that make me come back time after time.

Carcetti’s soles being worn down to nothing when he’s got his feet up on the desk, in series three, as he’s literally marching on the Mayors office and making a point of putting in the miles.

Just brilliant.

I'm a huge Steve Earle fan and that scene is even more poignant in that it almost mirrors his own past, he's brilliant in this and in Tremé also. He performs the song for the closing sequence in series 2 as well "I feel alright".

Enjoyed We Own This City. The brazenness of some of the shit they almost got away with was crazy. Just snatching money out of people’s pockets and the bit with the Mobil phone recording of the safe!

I kind of already knew a bit about the misadventures of the Gun Trace Task Force prior to WOTC, as I’d already listened to the very good Bad Cops podcast on BBC Sounds.

Well worth a listen.
