Alas Chelseas' players ability on the ball is much higher than that of Liverpool's (back four and wide players)

Let's take stock here. We need two wingers to supply Crouch, midfielders who can break forward in support of Crouch, a goalscorer to play alongside Crouch and a whole new back four who are comfortable on the ball.

Thank fuck we've got somebody who can hold the ball up.

Benitez as long as the back four are reliable in defensive tasks will not change it, at least it won't be his first priority. If Wenger was coaching Liverpool he would have got rid of Hyppia, Finnan and Risse in an instant (not to mention Traore) cause with those players you can't play a passing game. Carra would have survived only because he is from the Academy.

When Benitez builds a side with more technical ability and more pace down the flanks Liverpool are going to be an extremely difficult side to beat...by anyone on a consistent basis.

The structure of the defense looks even better than Chelsea's with that off side trap preventing teams from getting anywhere near the box whereas Chelsea rely much more on blocks and people defending in numbers inside the box. a joint team from the the two teams would look something like this

Cech

----------

Finnan

Carra

Gallas or Terry

Del Horno

----------------

Robben

Alonso

Gerrard

makele

Duff

-----------------

Drogba ( you may laugh)

--------------------------

that in itself tells the story about where we need to improve

And a "legend".

*and it's goodnight from me*

The problem about being an old dogmatic git is that sometimes you dont take into consideration the improvement in the player

Carra improved so much under your beloved Benitez last year he is now the best defender in the premiership bar none, however 2 years ago he wouldnt have made the top ten

Times change and players improve
