if it came down to a straight choice between Joaquin and simao, id take the spaniard every time

Simao size really worries me, he`s fucking tiny, at least Joaquin and stand up to a challenge,

plus, the fact, ive only seen simao play once, and that was against the mancs, in fairness he scored, but did fuck all else all game, of the times ive seen joaquin, ive always been impressed, even the othef night when we had 3 men on him at all times, his first touch, switching of play, and 1 on 1`s are superb, imo

Bascombe has made it pretty clear in the footy echo that Rafa isn't interested - and he normally gets the inside track ie confirming that Rafas denials are genuine.

However whilst everyone is in a Joaquin backlash at the mo because of the hype/Rashids constant support etc

Lets be honest if he was un veiled in the summer 95% would be as excited as we have been about a signing in years.

As for the price - that could change drastically - Alonso was rated at 20 mill when Fergie enquired about him and two years later we got him for 10.

I wouldn't. I think there's something of the Emperor's New Clothes about Joaquin. He's 24 now, has been touted as the next big thing for ages yet fails to impress on a consistent basis.

Totally underwhelmed by the guy. Admittedly not seen that much of him but hasn't seemed anything special to me.

In terms of right wingers who've given us the run around, Jermaine Pennant is the one that springs to mind as most impressive in recent times. Make of that what you will 8)

Kind of agree but I would add that a new challenge where he has to put the work in might help him. I think he's going through the motions at Betis. We'll never know until he moves to a club who expects consistency & results.

Would certainly like to sign Joaquin, imho could do a great job for us on the right wing and there is not many wingers out there who are consistently great performers every week and at least he looks physically able to handle the premiership.

The price of £15-20 million is too high, £10 million tops for him though.

Newcastle were fucking shocking today, so shit. I can't believe given the money they spent how bad they were.

I thought their fans were telling everyone who'd listen that they'd be challenging Chelsea. They obviously forgot about the one-man football circus that is Titus Bramble.

Bloody awful. Game full of bad corners no creative stuff at all. Agree Newcastle were woeful. They all seem to have caught Titus Bramble disease. Not one decent first touch and no one arsed to get to the box and support the player on the ball. After they went 1 down they gave up. Looked like they didn't give a toss.

What a nasty niggly spiteful team the blueshite are though. Do they practice falling to the ground clutching their face in training?
