Have to disagree with this thread. Sam A may be an ugly sucker and his teams play reflects this. He has however taken a shit team to the upper reches of the prem league and you cannot argue with that. I am also sure the odd flash of Ja Ja skill keeps the bolton fans happy with the style of play. He may talk shit now and again (all managers are guilty of this at some time) but I think he is essentially a good honest English proffesional.

I reckon he wanted that job badly but wasn't prepared to go there whilst a certain Number 9 was still waiting in the wings.
