Good films few people have seen

Recommended Posts

Deep End (1970)

Tale of obsessive love based around a London swimming baths. Notable for a young Jane Asher in the buff and a great sequence around Soho to a Can backing track.

Guest MMMMMM

Restless Natives

Two scottish lads on a motorbike holding up tourists (in Edinburugh?) with a gun from a joke shop. No outstanding plot/funny lines/soft porn bits but I used to watch over and over as a kid...

Once Upon A Time In the West - Henry Fonda plays the bad guy and Charles Bronson the harmonica.

that movie is just perfection in its true form. Leones ultimate masterpiece

"Fresh" is also a great film

Sam L Jackson co-stars, basically it's about a little kid selling drugs in Harlem NY. Can't believe it's as unknown as it is

The Wicker Man made by The Hammer House Of Horror team and starring Edward Woodward and Christopher Lee at his very best. A very influencial film for The League Of Gentlemen, with many lines from the film familiar to episodes from the show.

Available from Play.com for £7.99 and worth every penny:

That was a superb film as well, and the theme tune by Big Country was superb.

Not sure if few people have seen them but here are a few foreign films which are well worth a watch.

"Intacto" - Anglo/Spanish film about using your luck to compete in mad games and trade your luck for even more luck.

"Symapthy For Mr Revenge" - Korean film (I think!)- brutal, but gripping

"Old Boy" - by same director of above "Sympathy for.." a guy is kidnapped and held captive for 15 years. Gets out and seeks answers and revenge on his captors.

"Motorcycle Diaries" - think this one is quite well known, but worth a mention because of how good it is. Follow a young Che Guevra around South America.

Symapthy For Mr Vengence i thought?

Oldboy is awsome.

Haute Tension or switchblade romance as its known here is good. A very well made slasher movie basically.

As for unseen classics, i'd nominate State of Grace.

If you liked "Old boy" see "Sympathy for Mr Revenge" - I promise you won't be disappointed. Same director as "Oldboy" - gotta warn you though some horrible shit goes on

That is an ace film, there are rumours that they are remaking it.

It can't be remade. It's whole appeal is the Hammer House Of Horror done on the cheap. And there's not an actor in the world who could play Lord Summerisle the way Christopher Lee did.
