Stopped now. Just a show of strength/warning.

That’s not really how I’d describe it. Their strength is know, their military is outdated and incapable of anything significant outside of its borders bar border incursions and attacks on energy infrastructure. What I would say is that it’s a copy of what we saw in April, which was a knowingly ineffective attack to avoid any serious repercussions from a vastly superior, technologically advanced,  nuclear armed power. A warning would mean they were willing to do something else, they realistically can’t.

What I mean to say is, this is some pussy shit.

Maybe. And I guess to avoid a full escalation that’s probably the best thing for it to be. While I don’t begrudge Gazans celebrating rockets hitting Israel, it would be hypocritical not to show concern for innocent Israelis involved in this as well. Thankfully it doesn’t look like any proper damage has been done, to humans anyway.

Sounds like any proper damage will be kept from the world. IDF cunt just asked the people of Israel not to share images or locations of strikes.

Separately a lad on the BBC just said Irans actions were about sending a message to Biden that they will play their part in sending oil to $200 a barrel in the run up to the election. Long and short of it this is bad for Harris, good for Trump, bad for the world.

Been reading that they are at the point that they can enrich uranium to weapon grade level within 1-2 weeks. The delivery system is the part that is probably months off

Last I heard they could enrich to around 60%, shy of the 90% HEU required for a weapon. Like you say, even then that’s just part of the puzzle. They need to develop miniaturised warheads, which is complex AF, and create reliable high explosive triggers and neutron initiators, then design, develop, and engineer a delivery system that can ensure the safety of atmospheric re-entry. Then there’s testing, assuming they’d be allowed to get that far by the Western Intelligence agencies. Which is doubtful.

You know what we need?

Hans Blix.

That motherfucker wouldn’t have allowed it to get this out of hand.

Quote

The prime minister has condemned Iran’s attack on Israel “in the strongest terms” during a call with his Israeli counterpart Benjamin Netanyahu this afternoon.

Sir Keir Starmer “expressed the UK’s steadfast commitment to Israeli security and the protection of civilians” in his call with Benjamin Netanyahu, a Downing Street spokesman says.

Just imagine how scary it would be it they were friendly with a country that could already do all of these things. Someone who they  may even have supplied with weapons. Especially if that someone was a bit upset with the west and it's proxies. That would be really scary.

Looking on the bright side, it may solve the Palestinian issue once and for all.

How far off having nukes is Iran?

Not far enough. They can't be allowed to develop that capability because for sure they will use it, and it might not be in the form of a missile, but could be as a bomb planted in a major city anywhere in the world by one of their proxies.

A dirty bomb wouldn't require the complex delivery system and they may already have enough radioactive material.  I'm pretty sure they also have plenty of terrorist organizations that they fund that would be willing to plant one in a large western city.
