My wife was just on a Zoom call to a Lebanese friend, about ten minutes in she had to run and shelter in place as bombs started to fall.

My wife had a similar experience on a work call last week, on a Teams call with some project people in Lebanon and they all had to dial off and go for shelter.

I don’t claim to know much about all this, so this is a rather ill-informed opinion, the west (ie US, UK, France, Germany etc) don’t seem to have done nearly enough to stop this.

I know why Israel retaliated initially, Israel’s behaviour was waaaaaay past retaliation and became inhumane before Christmas and it’s not got any better.

The scariest thing now is, where will it end? If Iran keeps going v Israel, I can’t see the US & UK not intervening.

It was Hamas that retaliated. Israel just ramped up what they were doing anyway

Some footage online of missiles hitting Tel Aviv. The Israeli government has to ask themselves is it worth it to see their own citizens facing what they’ve unnecessarily handed out. Maybe now those on the west who’ve tacitly encouraged them will try to apply some stronger brakes.

Fucking hell as much as I want the IDF blown to pieces for what they’ve done, that’s not nice to see at all. How are that many getting through????? Am I a cynic for thinking the IDF might have deliberately unplugged their defence for some footage they can use to justify more innocent civilian deaths?

Two schools of thought. Either it’s a military target that’s not protected by Iron Dome, or it’s some farmer’s fields which aren’t protected by Iron Dome.

Al Jazeera have got some US weapons expert talking about it prioritising targets so these images are essentially showing rockets miss civilian population. This could just be (and I hope it is) a show of strength.
