Another thing about VAR is that loads of throw ins, goal kicks & corners still go the wrong way. Surely it would take 2 seconds for some cunt to say in the ref's ear 'That's definitely a corner'?

It's done fuck all other than completely ruin goals, you know - the most important part of the game.

The over analysis of everything is turning it into one of those shite American sports. There's a reason Football was so popular, it was really simple, that has changed & it's getting worse.

That is where they could have chosen to use it in a really non invasive way to help game.

Ball goes dead and ref wrongly gives a corner - it takes literally no time at all for the VAR people to get in the refs ear and tell him 'no that is a goal kick' But no they choose to not do something that simple and easy.

Meanwhile they butcher the game with things like the way they've used it to re-referee games over fouls slowing down tackles and playing them over and over from freeze frames etc.....and it taking an age to come to a decision.

I actually wouldn't have a problem with offsides if they had actually made it clear and quick....but they have had it in place for years now with all sorts of different ideas on how it should work and it is still largely a farce that takes way too long.

The tool itself could be good - sadly it is in the hands of the worst workmen.

You comparing it to politics is an exceptionally loser move. Alongside the fact people apparently can't change their opinions when facts change.

Go fuck yourself and stop replying to me.

You, in a very 'you' move, are not grasping the point.

It's not a comparison with politics... it's a comparison with a fundamental change to something which was wanted by or to appease twats, and turned out to be a terrible idea.

The issue with "people can't change their opinions when facts change" is the very point... the facts didn't change. The shit things the twats refused to believe or accept were always the facts, they didn't change, they just happened.

It's why brexit is such an apt example, to be honest.

VAR was wanted to appease the huge amount of noise from online who couldn't accept a wrong decision because it stopped them winning arguments with strangers, continents away, about their team being the bestest.

Now, we have offsides given by a toenail that take 5 or 6 minutes and that's when it works well and people say at least VAR gets those decisions right.

How many decades of football did that not count as offside for and were pundits and fans gappy with it being a goal if it was 'level'.

This isn't about you specifically, Stacksy baby, but you're the personification on here of the type of fan it is about. If the shoe fits.
