Is The General Forum Shitter Than Ever Before?

It’s gone proper crap, hasn’t it? For years I would sit reading and posting on these boards of a night and be creasing up with laughter. Now there’s only a handful of people that are actually funny who still bother to post and there’s the odd occasional thing to giggle at. 
 

Then there’s the endless repetitive arguments between the same dull twats every fucking day. 
 

What went wrong? Has the Woke Mind Virus spread so far across the web that you can’t even come on TLW and call someone a mong any more? I had a PM from someone a while back asking me (ME!) not to use the words ‘spaz’ or ‘spastic’. They’re in the dictionary, for fuck sake. These aren’t banned words. 
 

In summary, why so serious? Because it’s the seriousness and point scoring that have ruined what made this place great.

I'm not one for 'In my day' stuff but it's definitely not as good as it was when I joined in 2014.

 

I think a lot of people (including some great posters) have moved on, whether to other social media platforms or the afterlife but the new blood won't be there as no cunt under 30 uses forums anymore.

Five minutes on Facebook tells me the World is an angry, miserable place. Art is our sanctuary, we should be bumping and creating more threads about music, film, telly, books & paintings to get away from the political stuff. And more tits.

It’s like the regular/local pub you frequented when you were a teen/20 odd year old.

 

It was lively and a great place to visit. You could drop in anytime and there was someone you knew and something exciting to get involved in. 

 

Then you stopped visiting so often, then less and less. You drop in and the regulars have changed, but the fixtures and fittings are the same. It’s comfortable and looks like it’s your local, but the thing that made it what it was, the people, have changed. 
 

Some new people or older regulars have ruined the place by becoming the drunk fucktard who goes round boring people with the same story/themes/arguments. While the laugh a minute character is now brow beaten wreck of a man hanging on to his marriage as he can’t afford a divorce and only drops in when he’s on his way back from a sanctioned shopping trip with the wife to buy slacks she’s agrees with or rigging the kids out.

 

You moan it’s not like the old days, but those days are gone and you’re just as much part of the reason as anyone else 

 

Still, on a cheery note haven’t we got another tournament or list thread to compile

I think I’ve basically been around in one way or another since 2011.
 

Much of what you say is correct, but I still enjoy little more in life than a quick ten minutes on here. It glues other parts of the day together and I often get entertained, amused, educated, supported and exasperated. Maybe not as much as in the past but this place is still better than anywhere else.

 

There are some horrific dullards on the site, but they’re our dullards and I like reading their posts and then feeling superior. 
 

I’m not easily offended and although I recognise the world has moved on, I do think some posters want the rules of the real world to be replicated here. With some obvious caveats, I do not. I want this to be the GF, warts and all. 
 

I’ve said before that I think some of the recent bans have been unnecessary, I’m not a fan of the ban (I’m not talking about me). This place takes all sorts, it needs all sorts. 
 

All this WhatsApp ing and ‘meeting up’ (apart from KFC straighteners) needs to get fucked as well. It’s not a place to make friends. 
 

If we start from the foundation that everyone is a cunt and wrong about everything then we’ll be fine.

The  good stuff is when people discuss stuff like grown ups, compile stupid lists, post pictures of their homemade baking, share their ups and downs etc. I have found this a very therapeutic place and informative place at times.

 

The dreary bit is the constant abuse and attempts to start feuds from a small number of posters if you have a different opinion from theirs. It’s just so dull and repetitive. You’d think they’d get bored too.
