Seeing some of the names of those who played today, the word 'legends' has never been so misused and indeed, abused, before. It gets worse every year, as the barrel is scraped ever lower.

Mate, the fact that they travelled from the various spots in the world, where they live, to play in a game that raises money for charity makes the players in both teams legends in my eyes.

I see Bournemouth being linked with Keheller now.

I assume we’ll stick to our guns of wanting £25m for him.

If it all plays out as being discussed, I doubt it’ll be a swap deal, 2 deals that works out at £20m and Keheller for Kerkez seems fair.

Bournemouth would be a really good move for him. They may also decide to make a permanent move for Kepa though.

A lot of our true Legends are too old to even play a charity match now sadly.

John O'Shea, Ireland assistant manager, seemed to let slip that he knew where he'd be playing next season. He said it would he a London club and then he threw in Newcastle as kind of get him out of jail card. Regardless, he seemed fairly certain it was already a done deal and that was about 4 months ago.

Chelsea have been linked with him a fair bit over the past few months.

Clauses are often tiered, have certain time restrictions, or limited to certain conditions.

Buying clubs will sometimes use the clause as the back stop and negotiate a similar, but elevated, deal to try and get more preferential payment terms.

You also have the complication that Hughes, while not sporting director at the time of his signing, still has contacts at the club so you have to do it by the book and go through club to do away with any accusations of impropriety even though the agents are probably telling any club that'll listen what the terms of the clause are.

You pay the amount stated in the clause and then he can join your club?

The Huijsen clause can only be activated on the first Tuesday of every month between the hours of 2.00 and 3.00 AM whilst standing on your head and costs 198m Ugandan dollars.

Strange world where we could spend the best part of £100m on two Bournemouth players and see it as good value. Another £40m on Frimpong and we only have right wing, centre mid and centre forward to sort out. But hey, we’re top of the league so the succession planning must be spot on.

I do wonder if we fancy getting that dutchie at Brighton over Huijsen if Virgil stays. He’s basically a younger player to take Gomez’s position of utility defender.
