Interesting that they said it can play compatible Switch games, not that it's fully backwards compatible.

They're taking the piss charging for that Astro Bot-Esque tech demo game, it should be packaged with the console.

£50 more expensive than the digital PS5, £100 more expensive than the X-Box Series S (at launch).

Mario Kart World is priced at $80 (in game world where exchange rates don't matter that means £80/€80) digital and $89.99 physical allegedly.

Get fucked.

It must have a decent amount of power if it's able to run Cyberpunk, not sure how well it'll manage it though. There's no exclusive games I'm after for it either so not wanting one for the time being.

£395 for a portable PS4?

They stopped supporting Cyberpunk on the PS4 eventually and it didn't get the Phantom Liberty DLC, this has the Ultimate Edition that includes it though so it looks like it's more than a PS4.

I've been looking at it a bit more as I'm confused with this Cyberpunk thing. The official Cyberpunk site says it'll fit on a 64GB game card though and that's less than the PS5/PC file sizes so there's probably been some compromises to make it work on the Switch 2. Maybe it is close to a PS4/PS4 Pro then. They haven't released the info on the chip yet though so we're still guessing.

I think I'm waiting until after the initial rush. The from soft news almost changed my mind, but looks a bit like the latest elden ring update and, while I like the PvP bits as part of a main game, these look a bit too designed around it.

So if you buy a physical version of a game, and why wouldn't you physical is better than digital, you don't actually get a physical copy of the game loaded on to the disk you just get a key to download the game digitally?

You're potentially paying £10 more for a digital version with an extra step?

Fuck off Nintendo.

I don't think this is the case with a lot of games, seems to be rumours going around on social media mostly. It's probably going to be the same as the Switch games that have the code in the box where you can see it mentioned on the box itself but hopefully plenty of other games should be on the cart.

The thing with the chip in this Switch is really bugging me now too, has there ever been a console this close to release where the makers refuse to give details on the chip? They even had one of their main people say that they don't want to get into technical details and that they'd prefer to give details on other stuff consumers would want to know instead, loads of them will still want to know the details of the chip though? Many won't give a shit but a lot of people are still interested in exactly how powerful it is.

They even said Nvidia who've made/designed the chip would give more details then when Nvidia posted a page on it they didn't give much info either. One thing a lot of tech nerds seem to be agreeing on though is that it's a custom Tegra chip designed for the Switch 2. Would still like to know more soon though.

I wonder if them trying to keep this info to themselves is one reason dev kits apparently haven't been sent out to a lot of smaller studios. That's usually where spec leaks come from.

Could be, hope someone leaks something soon though or Nintendo get a bit of a backlash and decide to let us know because it'd be crazy if tech reporters have to wait until release to take the thing apart and then give out the info.

Just realised how much I’m spending on this thing, they’ve literally got me by the balls…

£400 - Machine (Argos have confirmed I’ll receive on day 1).

£75 - Mario Kart (I couldn’t get the bundle).

£65 - Zelda TotK

£75 - Pro Controller

£75 - Extra Joy cons

£30 - Joy cons charger

£22 - Wrist things for 4 joy cons.

I want to get an extra dock for it as well, that’ll take it to £800 I reckon.

Luckily I get a bonus at the start of June to cover it all.

As committed to Mario Party Jamboree in July.

The current Switch pro controller is compatible with the Switch 2 so you could save there if you have one.

That's wild. I remember buying my Snes for £150 from Woolworths and it came with 2 control pads, Super Mario World and Super Tennis.

(I realise that £150 in 1993 is probably about 300 odd quid now.)

Although it’s expensive, a PS4 cost £350 at launch 12 years ago.

The games are in line with what games cost these days.
