Those perforated ceiling tiles, maybe that’s not the right term, but the tiles with uniform holes in.

 

I work out the number of holes in ceiling. I count them up x by y, times them together then work out the number of tiles and times it by that.
 

By my rule you can’t use a calculator. I started this pre mobile phone days so no aid was available.

 

I also memorise number plates in my works car park. I can still recite quite a few from previous jobs.

I do the opposite - if a monthly credit card statement shows I owe 4,252.27 they are getting 252.27 regardless of any minimum payment malarkey.
