Players we likely or definitely can't use Saturday.

Alisson

Bradley

Tsimikas

Konate

Mac Allister

Jota

Chiesa

The media were in a frenzy when Arsenal had half that problem.

Alisson and Jota should be back in next couple of weeks and Mac Allister is just a one game suspension. Hopefully we can ride this period and it not got any worse in terms of missing players - but it feels really dicey with the back line. I felt sorry for Quansah having to play RB tonight a strange position for him exacerbated by fact he has barely played anyway lately. TAA really needs to stay fit.

Have we had an explanation on Jotas injury I’ve not seen anything but it must be rib related

Fuck me, we're either the best team ever or the sky is falling.  Newcastle, eh? That was a cracking game and Newcastle can be a very good team. Given how it looked at half time it could have been a lot worse. We were off all night, relied on Mo and yet if Darwin could just for once not be Darwin we would have won.  As for Kelleher, that was a brain fart but he's been very good and will never leave a cross again.

You have to think thats pretty good if we can be that loose away at quite a feral stadium and still get a point and could have had all three.

It is waaaaaay too early to be worrying about league titles.

As an aside, the answer is obviously that we should buy Chris Wood. (my bias may be showing a little - go Kiwi)

The problem is the game and everything around it has driven people mad and now it is like anything less than winning every week is seen as no good.

A lot of it is scars from finishing runners up to the cheats with ridiculous points totals and a lot of it is the laughable hyperbolic shite in the media - 'title races' that start in fucking September - with live blogs on bbc site about the 'race' in October - endless bollocks on twitter etc and of course sky.

It was 'all over' on Sunday - 13 fucking games in....It is nuts. If we drop more points weekend we'll be 'bottling it' and 'crumbling' and the articles will be out about us 'feeling the pressure of the title race'.....15 fucking games in....

It is equally as nuts that points away from home at tricky places are often treated like catastrophic results and a defeat is virtually 'sack everyone' time - it is all part of the shitness of modern footy and modern life frankly.

I had to go out at half time tonight but he was a fucking disgrace the first half.

One thing I will say is our lot don't help with this constant pushing the opposition in the back. We do it all over the pitch & if the ref isn't in the mood for it, we're just conceding free kicks all game.

The result tonight all depends on Saturday. If we drop points at Goodison, it starts to look like a wobble. If we win, 7pts from this week is a decent return.

The key thing about those cards were that they were given for innocuous tackles, not sure but it could well have been Mac and Gravs first one. That immediately disrupts their style of play. On top of that they got every 50-50 . Twat of a performance by him.

Every team that's had this sort of lead at this point in the season has won the title. If we don't win it, we'll be a complete laughing stock, and rightfully so.

That win, and especially the way it happened, has set us up for an epic collapse the like the Premier League of England has never seen.

We should be looking at a striker in January but we will here Chiesa and Jota are back. Both will pick up knocks by Feb/March

We need to stop carrying so many players that constantly pick up knocks.

The Konate/Bradley injuries coming at the same time really hasn't helped. Robbo looked fucked again tonight trying to play again and he's going to have to constantly play unless we make a change. I'd start Trent-Quansah- Virg and Gomez at LB this weekend. Need to make sone changes at Girona and Southampton in the cup whatever the results now. Can't afford anymore injuries.

If Slot has no trust in Endo or Morton to plat a role we really have to buy another midfielder in January. We are playing with 4 midfielders for 3 positions and now no Mac Allister this weekend

Also 5 yellows meaning a one game ban now is a fucking joke with how quickly refs book players.

A point away at St James park it's not too bad. First half performance is worrying. We take that to Goodison and we won't be leaving with any points, not taking all 3 points against that shite is a failure. I dont think we will win the league anyway so it's not really over the top glory or despair for me with every result this season. During a game it's kneejerk emotion but afterward I'll take it for what it is.

I think the amount of fixtures is going to kill us. The squad needs fresh players and not fucking opportunistic on the cheap players but you know players we actually need in positions we want that are bought to improve us but it's FSG and every decision they make is the cheapest solution is the best solution.

I'd wager heavily this amazing stat that nobody would even know about in days gone by because it wouldn't be being dug up by sky or whoever to help fill hours of vapid coverage only applies to since sky invented football in 1992.

Yep. Pointless pieces of information to fill endless column inches and round the clock sports programmes that become more like Brass Eye every week.

Newcastle had a 12 point lead over the Mancs at the end of January in ‘95

The referee blowing the final whistle as Newcastle had 3 players bearing down on our goal and only 1 defender has surely ended any talk of refs being corrupt or bias against us. Rival fans will be fuming.

And Jarrell's tackle on Isak in the area earlier looked very dicey. I'd have been screaming for a pelanty.
