I never understood the port rivalry until moving down here. Took me a while to get my head round it.

Then I realised they just all hate Stig.

Head coach Wayne Rooney has left Championship strugglers Plymouth Argyle by mutual agreement.

The 39-year-old former England captain oversaw just four league wins and suffered 13 defeats in 23 Championship games after taking charge of the Pilgrims in May.

He leaves with them at the foot of the division.

Apparently Rooney agreed to leave mutually, giving up any pay off he was due for them to invest into the squad. Class move that.

And they got a point in his first game gone too. Its not difficult to give up cash when you are minted anyway though.

Mourinho has had almost £60m when being sacked by Chelsea, the Mancs and Spurs. I think Graham Potter got £17m off Chelsea.

Not a bad business to be in, especially if you're someone like Sam Allardyce who just get brought in to play shite football to avoid relegation/steady the ship as that Is the limit of your talents and you can't progress any teams further after that.

Lampard is the best shout so far. He has failed at every level - even at Derby their attempts to go up sent them into financial freefall.

Hodgson succeeded in most of his jobs, were just biased because he was a disaster here. Frank De Boer revitalised Ajax and won four titles in five-and-half years, before being rubbish everywhere else. Ardilles was sometimes good (his Swindon team were ace), sometimes bizarre, and he did OK in Japan.

I’m surprised nobody has mentioned Steve Bruce for his ‘impressive’ combination of big spending, under-performance, and chronic disloyalty whenever a bigger payday presented itself. Gary Megson was consistent very crap as well.

Hodgson 'succeded?' Oh yes.

Who could forget those methods that translated from Malmo to Neuchatel Xanax(deliberate misspelling) and Inter Milan.

What ever happened to Curbishley? I remember him being linked with us before Rafa and he just suddenly disappeared.

I spoke with Glenn Roeder years back at Fratton Park and he said the days of British managers being successful are well gone. This was around the time Taggart was stepping down.

He did well with Fulham which is why he got a gig here. Fuck me what a horrible

horrible time to be a Liverpool fan that was. I cried when Kenny walked out that tunnel at Old Trafford for that cup game. We lost our club for 7 months.
