Seems like Ashworth wanted Southgate over Amorim and that was the final straw!

Just been reading about him as well, sounds like he was a key voice in keeping 7-Hag in the summer as well.

Considering Amorim was available in the summer and the extension / compensation  to 7-Hag cost the mancs >£20m and likely another c.£200m spent on mediocre players, I can see why Ratcliffe decided to sack him.

Sky are still at it. I heard that dickhead redknapp say the other week he prefers man to man because at least it gives you someone to blame. What type of a fucking approach is that to anything, where the entire aim of a system that will fail, is geared to blaming someone.

The Glazers have played an absolute blinder here. They were getting all kinds of shit. Then they sell him 25% of the club, which they can buy back if they get the deal they were looking for, allow him to run the footballing side which they had no interest in anyway, then allowing him to become their lightning rod. And if it turns out he knows what he's doing they benefit from that too.

That’s the entire process of the club now though - layers and layers of nonsense, and the higher you climb the less defined your role is to leave you ever-less accountable.
•The Glazers leech off the club and contribute nothing. But nobody blames them anymore because…
•Ratcliffe pays for the privilege of making the little people redundant and playing at being a football club owner (something he’s failed at multiple times already). So he redirects blame to…
•Ashworth is recruited at great cost and no little difficulty, but his role doesn’t make sense because there’s also Berrada. They’ve only got rid of him now because he lost his insulation after they fired…
•The manager is ostensibly in charge of results - except the club is so rich, yet has been incapable of mounting a meaningful challenge for any proper trophy for around a decade, under half a dozen managers of all backgrounds and profiles. What’s their solution?
•The manager chucks players under the bus, with new scapegoats whose faces don’t fit despite flourishing elsewhere and arriving at great cost.

It’s a great big cash cow, which boosts almost nobody’s reputation (unless they get out quick) yet is crazily lucrative all the same.
How do I get a piece of the action?!

Magnificent, I'm starting to love this bloke.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s radical cost-cutting at Manchester United has included the staff’s £100 Christmas bonus being replaced by a £40 voucher for Marks & Spencer.

He really fucking is a cunt isn't he. Think of all they can do with tbe money saved. No PSR issues this year with stealing that sort of bonus

He's such an irredeemably mean-spirited character. Brilliantly, he's exactly the sort of person you'd hope might get involved with that club if you don't want them to do well.

In all seriousness though, it's horrible for the lower-level employees there, and can only have a corrosive effect on morale. I wouldn't be surprised if he freezes pay for them next.

He’s cancelled the usual staff Christmas party because it didn’t feel right to celebrate after so many people had been laid off.

So he's cancelled the staff party after he laid off most of the staff??  Genius.

They made a lot about the fact he was a man U fan and among the first things he's done is fuck ferguson off and cut the staff Christmas bonus.

A lot of very successful people are notoriously high functioning psychopaths.

He hasn't been very successful in football with Nice which is why the hype around him turning that sinking ship around was funny.
