"The season started, we started very well, and then Manchester United came, they pay above the compensation clause and the president defends the club's interests," Amorim explained.

"I never discussed anything with the president. For three days I said I wanted to stay until the end of the season, but then I was told it was not possible.

"It was now or never, or Manchester would go for another option. So, I had three days to make my mind up, to make a decision that changes radically my life."

I mean... yeah, seemed desperate to join.

Is there a source for this? It’ll boil some piss

Good appointment, bad appointment, they’ve done it in the most cackhanded way.
Supposedly Ten Haag was (reluctantly) kept on in the summer because there was nobody better. Well we know that this guy was available, because he both talked to us and got as far as discussing terms with West Ham. And however well Sporting have done this season, he’s no better than he was four months ago. So they’ve botched that.
And they all but handed the baldy twat a blank chequebook in the summer too. I don’t doubt that some of those players might turn out to be pretty good (although I wouldn’t count on it, given their transfer record over the last decade or so…). But some of them won’t be, and others will be good players who don’t fit what he wants to do. So that’s several hundred million, largely spent poorly.
And instead of having the summer to embed his ideas, he’s got to do it mid-season. In a second language. When he’s never managed abroad before.
It’s bonkers that nobody wants to say any of this out loud, but I guess you can’t endanger your access to Old Trafford by hammering his appointment so early on. So all the media talk is about what he’ll do differently, how he needs time, blah blah blah.

I give him two full seasons, tops.

And another few £100million spent. But the Glazers don’t back their manager.

The fuck is with this title?

I tend to agree: I miss the days when the Someone’s Having a Real Laugh thread contained a crude insult based on personal appearance such as Gollum, Butthead or Sperm of Gollum. Cant think of one for Amorim at the moment, unfortunately.

And the weirder, more nonsensical the better.

He's a bit thick really? Why would he meet the owner of West ham but have no intention of joining them or negotiate a deal. Seems a bit strange/cuntish to do that or he's a massive liar. Zero integrity by the looks of it, perfect for the mancs.

Wasn’t it something along the lines of we’d spoken to / interviewed him, he was getting pissy at the time it was taking us to come to a conclusion and he tried to force our hand by speaking to West Ham? The Slot news followed very quickly afterwards.

We either thought “fuck you” and turned to Slot or Slot was the front runner all along, which given he was allegedly 1st place in the 3 key metrics we prioritised (I can’t remember what they were, injury prevention was definitely one of them), seems quite likely.

Either way, it’s working out pretty, pretty, pretty good for us so far, and that’s all I care about.

Could be the spawn to end all spawns should United become challengers again as City are demoted

That would be very United. If we spend a bit more ambitiously then I'd say it would be a far harder task for United but FSG want us to crack on with a mid table war chest alongside potentially letting our 2 most important players and Trent fuck off. So rather than step on uniteds head to push ourselves up we will reach down with an open hand and pull the fuckers up.
