I’m not sure Amorim will be any better or worse than what has gone before, but they could have had much worse targets than him.

Problem is, throw enough money at the problem or cast the net out enough times and they’re bound to get lucky eventually.

The next fella will be given time and money, because he’ll be Ratcliffe’s boy.

I have a dooming feeling they will win their next title before we do. They just need to sort out a few decision makers and they will always back the team financially. We had one of the greatest managers of his generation and tied his arms behind his back because we'd rather risk a disastrous season than risk spending money. Its early days with Slot I'm just not feeling it but that doesn't mean shit, it's as dumb as declaring him the next big thing because you have a feeling, regardless if he's expected to compete on a shoe string budget comparative to his rivals I just don't see in anyway how he out does Klopp and Klopp did fucking exceptional just to get the one title.

Yes Klopp inherited a worse squad but Slot may lose 3 of his best players after just one year and Alissons future feels up in the air too. Fix that on an FSG budget. I think my pessimism just stems from the entire game as  a whole it just all seems a bit shit.

I see the media are being restrained in their reporting of last night's game & not going too overboard...

It was no different to an early round when they beat some lower league club 7-0 or something..not only were they back, so was rashford too with a couple of goals. And that's while seven hag was still there.

Absolutely this.  I said it when we were flying high and adding number 19 that the Mancs would get to 21 before we do, because of the spending restrictions on Klopp we just couldn't sustain it despite him being the best manager of his generation and a genius.

As I’ve said elsewhere though, if Amorim was the standout choice - or even a standout choice - they would have got him in the summer. Baldy twat was clearly on his way even before the end of the season, they had time to find the best available candidate (ideally before they actually ditched Ten Haag, but maybe some managers are too focused on their current clubs, I guess?). Get him in, give him a budget and a pre-season, and let them do their thing.
So either Radcliffe isn’t, in fact, all that convinced by Amorim and thought Ten Haag was better, or he’s a clueless fool who doesn’t know what he’s doing. Either way, it doesn’t speak of Amorim being “his man” with his full blessing. It’s a messy way of running a club and entirely self-inflicted.

This may be a perfect storm season for us. City are on the ropes with an ageing team and a manager who may walk (will be right up there regardless imo), Arsenal are very good but have no experience of winning titles just coming close in title races and they have little room for error albeit they have had the hardest start, Chelsea are beginning to click with some really good players but are a year or two off and Newcastle, United and Spurs are nowhere near us.

The thing about their new guy is that he's clearly a fine manager, but Ten Haag looked just that at Ajax. I actually think they need an Ancelloti who is a gigantic presence rather than him. They need another decade of being alsorans before they really buy into the exciting up and comer managers. They go on about the class of 92, bargain buys like Irwin etc but really they just want Hollywood 24/7. I expec⁹t their poisonous team will make life impossible for him and he'll last two years, while the fanbase won't allow him to put his stamp on things.

Irwin cost United 650,000 back then, which was no bargain at all. The good thing was that he was an excellent player and consistent as fuck. That United team that won their first title in decades cost a lot of cash and more than Liverpool were able to spend at the time.

For some reason, I thought he was less. He was the kind of player we would have bought in the 70s and 80s.

Absolutely agree they spent bigger than everyone else, but they both well and bought guys who wanted to win. We spent a lot of money on guys like Ruddock.
