Northern Lights

I woke up not long ago and saw Northern Lights trending on twitter so quickly went outside. I'd never seen them before tonight but finally managed to, only faintly though. I remember seeing something about the sun recently but totally forgot about it.

I didn't clearly see any colour either, just faint bits of light mostly. What got me was the speed of some of it, kind of fast and like a pulsing across parts of the sky when I can only remember seeing it moving fairly slowly in footage, almost like parts of the sky were flickering. A bit freaky really but that might be something you see more when you're looking at a mostly darkened sky when it's faint and you can see parts of it entering the atmosphere.

Would really like to see some clear colours though, I might've seen some light greens but not that visible. Also surprised to see photos from built up areas, thought the light pollution would've stopped that. Maybe it normally does but this was stronger than usual.

The footage of the "pulsing" thing that I could see isn't something I can find, might be hard to record and only with like really high quality footage. Or maybe it was me having a mental episode, sure it was the lights though. This is from a live cam in Canada and if you took almost all of the colour out of it and it was fainter it's mainly what I was seeing, with the most near the horizon and some bands of light going up too here and there.

Missed the bastards again.  Stupid council, fixing the street lights.

You might be able to see something tonight or even later, I started checking this account sometimes after missing the last one we had and this is the strongest reading yet this week, doubt it's going to pass quickly from this amount.
