I've nothing against binging a series that has been broadcast and then collected on DVD. I've just rewatched Red Dwarf 1-8 on iPlayer and thoroughly enjoyed watching 3-4 episodes in a sitting. However, that's not how they were intended to be viewed nor was it how the two shows you mentioned were either. You're entitled to your opinion that waiting for a week is shite, mate, but I think it's made TV worse not doing so. It's nice to have something to look forward to, to create that shared experience even though we're all watching it in our own homes. Those conversations the day after seeing String or Tony buy it (sorry, spoilers) are gone now, as is the anticipation of seeing how last week's ending will be resolved. Instead, we have some divvy online binging every thing in one go so they can start dropping spoilers and pissing on others' chips, and others doing so so as not to have their viewing spoilt..

I'm reading a book on cinema audiences from 2003, written not long after DVD and widescreen TVs had started to become widespread in their consumption/use and the writer talks about a future where we can watch what we want by accessing films over the interweb, when we want. He even refers to it as enabling a system of greater choice for the viewer, but doesn't foresee companies stockpiling material that they simply won't release and the sheer number of subscriptions necessary.

I like it me. I was in Tunisia years ago and I used to have long hair so had a sweatband on my head. One of them went “Heyyy Rambo” I thought he was funny so went in and bought a jarg Louis Vouitton manicure set.

And that might be my gayest post ever.

Serial Killers by DNA evidence, CCTV, GPS and all manner of modern policing methods alongside profiling and recognising psychotic behaviours from a young age leading to therapy, medication or incarceration. The modern day serial killer just isn't going to make a name for themselves they'll be caught early. Be cool if AI gets to a point it can solve historical murders.

Would have been nice if it was available earlier, say in the late 70s, early '80s, in the Yorkshire area, maybe.

Would of been nice if they didn't dehumanise the women at first as merely prostitutes and therefore not as important to use up police time. If Sutcliffe went on his spree in the home counties attacking the bank managers wife and such even without modern policing he'd of been caught sooner.

We haven’t had a good serial killer in the UK for a while.

I was just thinking it might have saved me some hassle, given my name, but yeah, your point stands.

Maybe all those things will separate the wheat from the chaff
