Push the Feeling On by the Nightcrawlers. Ruined by numerous adverts.

I don't know the song or the adverts, but it pisses me off when I look up a classic song on YouTube and the top comment is "Who is here in 2024 because of [insert name of shit film or telly programme ]?"

Episodic TV, ruined by bingewatching.

Netflix have ruined the work water cooler talk. Netflix have also ruined the ability for shows to grow an audience by cancelling promising shows because it wasn't watched by all it's subscribers the moment it was uploaded.

Netflix is fucking shit. It's ruined TV.

In this case we do. Waiting a week for 50 minutes of screen time is shite. The Wire and Sopranos were so much better second time around as the continuity was there.

I've nothing against binging a series that has been broadcast and then collected on DVD. I've just rewatched Red Dwarf 1-8 on iPlayer and thoroughly enjoyed watching 3-4 episodes in a sitting. However, that's not how they were intended to be viewed nor was it how the two shows you mentioned were either. You're entitled to your opinion that waiting for a week is shite, mate, but I think it's made TV worse not doing so. It's nice to have something to look forward to, to create that shared experience even though we're all watching it in our own homes. Those conversations the day after seeing String or Tony buy it (sorry, spoilers) are gone now, as is the anticipation of seeing how last week's ending will be resolved. Instead, we have some divvy online binging every thing in one go so they can start dropping spoilers and pissing on others' chips, and others doing so so as not to have their viewing spoilt..

Pubs with the constant price hikes alongside lowering of alcohol levels. Cheeky bastards. Everything really is just being made worse in the chase for ever increasing profits and the government's solutions to problems... let's tax the shit out of this or let's add an extra charge so people who don't go mad pay even more because of those who do. Every cunt is stupid. The whole world, we can see the holes we are digging but continue to dig and dig and dig at ever increasing rates. I want to be post war 18 years old driving a cadillac listening to Elvis while picking up my chick to take her to an out door picture show and that will be my Truman reality bubble. Willful gleeful ignorance.

Modern films/TV ruined by their perceived need to cram in Marvel style humour and banter.

"Here comes Darth Vader's Imperial Star Destroyer."

"The wait what now? That's new."

Definitely. An earnest film like the Christopher Reeve Superman or the first Lord of the Rings films would now be peppered with constant snark.

Work ruined in by Linkedin culture.

Self employment ruined by 'side hussle/grift culture'.

Why don't you fuck off and die instead.
