Szoboszlai is really concerning. Seems to be second guessing everything he does. Shoots when he shouldn't, gives up shooting chances he should take. Works his arse off but on ball he has been poor.

It's crazy that he was once seen as this technical wonderkid. He has been straight up bad with the ball since we signed him.

He was still doing it for Hungary to start but even for them he hasn't looked on it for a while

Very second gear performance that. Plenty good enough to keep Palace at arm's length, but also sloppy enough to allow them to try and build up a head of steam and think there might be something in it for them. Wasteful finishing by Diogo, goal aside.

Fletch can fuck off trying to make a big deal out of the 'penalty' incident. Guehi was getting nowhere near that ball, impeded or otherwise. Mo doesn't get free kicks and penalties for a lot lot more than that.

Ali doesn't actually have hamstrings, he has cheese strings. He was very very good today when he needed to be, but perhaps being in a team where he won't have to do an awful lot is not good for keeping his muscles warm.

I was very close to turning off the last ten minutes. The officiating has been an absolute joke. I stuck with it, and punched the air when the final whistle went. Get the fuck in. Hard fought but deserved win, regardless of the slackness in the final third.

No doubt t it will be on should have been a penalty for foul not given. Won't even mention foul not given for pull back, should have been a red. Not the narrative.

Hughes should have gone, dirty little prick him and always has been. And even Lerma was a possible, dangerous as fuck the way he made made the back for Kostas to spin over him, Harry Kane special. Endangering an opponent

lack of intensity in the second half cost us.  MacAllister going off wasn't the problem, he offered little and lost the ball a lot.  The issue was how we set up in that 2nd half.  Jones seems to lose dynamism in that role, and we handed some of the initiative to a team who must have been counting their blessings at the end of the first half.  Jaros deserves a lot of credit for his performance when he came on.  Grav very good again, and VVD and Konate excellent.  Tsimikas proved he is a better bet than Robertson in a team that values possession, and Gakpo did the same replacing Diaz in the starting line up.  Jota missed a hatful, but importantly his instinct and technique were the difference.

Nice 3 pts....

Really potential blow with Alisson

Our games between now and mid 7th December (so dead on two months) are really tough:

Chelsea
Leipzig
Arsenal
Brighton
Brighton
Leverkusen
Villa
Southampton
Real Madrid
Man City
Newcastle
Everton

So far we've played the sides currently in 10th, 11th, 12th, 13th, 15th, 18th and 20th. That is an astonishingly easy run of fixtures, and we still managed to get beat by the side in 10th. Flat Track Bullies 'R' Us.

Very much need to step it up a gear when we actually play someone who isn't relegation fodder.

I'm sure that taking off someone good on the ball and replacing them with someone who has not been good on the ball was not a factor.
