Started very well, after that we were poor for spells and good in glimpses I thought, overall an average performance. Result is good however, even if a couple of more goals to boost the goal difference would’ve been nice.

Game was a strange one, and a bit concerning how successful they were with the high pressing, we really struggled with that apart from the first 20 or so.

We could and should have score more, but quality in the final third meant we didnt create too many big chances.

Man of the match for me once again was Gravenberch. If he can maintain this perfomance level, well then wow! Apart from him I thought Alisson, Van Dijk, Szoboszlai and Diaz all played well. And of course Salah was vital to the win with some moments of true brilliance.

Yep, hard to argue with that. Tactically, he seems to fit in even less this season.

I dont necessarily think so. The way we are trying to play when building up, he should have a clear role. We are doing some press baiting and having Gravenberch use his ability to turn away and break or have someone run in behind. Diaz has been doing it really well early on this season and Nunez should be able to do it as well, but he is thus far pretty incapable. It doesnt bode well.

I take it you missed the goal.

Pretty predictable response. Yes, I saw the goal. Did you miss the pass at Wolves when he’s wide and tries to square the ball to the forward in the centre. That was easy for a player of his level. Same thing again tonight. He needs to get those passes to the man. No excuses for that level of sloppiness.

It was a wonderful cross for the goal and wonderful goal he scored. But those passes must hit the mark and soon it’ll really matter that they do.

Also, Mo, aside from that sublime cross for the goal, has been sloppier than I think I've ever seen him.

He tried the early direct pass, especially to Nunez almost all the time, makes me wonder if he does it to avoid Nunez going offside.

I mean if he takes a touch or two, to get better control, the chances are pretty big Nunez would wander offside.

Nope. They call it ragu, not bolognaise sauce, and serve it with tagliatelle. Little local culinary knowledge for you.

I know. I was making a funny joke.

Someone will highlight his one good pass set up the goal but everything after has been terrible.

Yes, all too predictable isn’t it. He was pretty shit tonight, but gets the headlines with a top cross and goal. Those passes have got to hit the mark. Simple as that.

It was disappointing that we didn't knock a couple more in, given the ridiculous rugby scores some teams are racking up. I also agree about their press - it does look sometimes that we don't actually practise playing out from the back, given how shit some of our passing was, particularly from Allison.

Darwin started well but after that offside goal he's not been in it. Really think we need to add a long term number 9 to the needs next summer

Wonder if we'll look at that Jonathan David, he's on a free next summer. Turns 25 in January and looking on trsck to score over 20 again this season(yes it's in france)

I don't think it'd make a huge difference if we had Haaland even.  What we need is the other players using the 9 as a way of finding their own space to shoot.  Dom and Grav and Macca could all hit double figures, they're talented enough.

It was a flippant response.

Tonight was typical of a few of his recent performances: mostly frustrating, but illuminated by two all-important pieces of brilliance.

Apart from the assists and the goals, what the fuck does he offer?

Nunez is Salahs replacement on the right

If Salah played together with himself, he would have around 15 goals and 15 assists already this season.

Now its only those 6 goals and 5 assists in 9 games.

Salah and himself? Like a clone?
