gravenberch excepted, our midfield has been shite so far this season.

Don’t agree with that. Mac Allister has been very good in an understated way, he’s also being more closely marked this season.

Szoboszlai though… I completely agree with that. I think Jones should start in that #10 position on Weds.

Defo need a top quality midfielder in January. The drop offs massive now and he’s just not having Endo at all.

I agree. Mac Allister & Gravenberch won’t be fit all season.

I do like Jones, I also find him very frustrating - he takes too long and goes backwards too often.

Szoboszlai needs to pull his finger out. He might run about a lot, he’s too lax on the ball. I get the impression he isn’t the most intelligent player.

My problem with Konate has always been the fact he’s used to have a regular brainfart every game.

This season before this game its not cost us anything, but he need to be more decisive. He has got everything a great CB need, just be that CB.

Szoboszlai hasn't played much in midfield. It's been 4-2-4 defending every single game. His running makes it go from 4-2-4 to an extra in midfield.

I hadn’t paid that much attention to how short we are in that position. He wasn’t giving Elliott  any minutes and Curtis just hasn’t kicked on and I really wanted him to succeed here. Talented lad but think him Endo and Harvey might be the first ones out when Arne gets a bit more influence. Hopefully first in line for Zubimendi in January and another one in next summer.

Like the other two did?

Yep. Was getting on my tits how lightweight we were. Lemina did the same turn 3 or 4 times in the game where he just rolled our player off the ball. Putting Endo on would have looked like bringing a 12 year old on to the pitch. Curtis kept hold of the ball and looked pretty good when he came on.

That was painful to watch, we won because they were dreadful. Konaté is the main culprit for me for their goal, he played like he was with his friends on the beach. Just kick the ball away or make sure the ball is out.

We were so negative, I guess that’s what Slot wants, no risks.

We’re top but it does mean anything, we only played the dross of this league. I can’t remember when we had such an easy start.

I don’t like his choice to play Szoboslai so much when he’s delivered so little.

But it’s a good way for the new boss to boost his confidence.

This is actually quite damning for Wolves.

I thought their post-match thread would be full of conspiracy or corruption but most are of the opinion it was a pen, that we basically gifted them a goal, that we won at a canter despite being in first gear, and they were so poor we were always winning it. Also unhappy with O’Neill as they feel he’s not getting the best out of the players he has.

he really hasn’t Scott.  More closely marked my arse.  No one’s giving him any special attention, why would they?   I really hope this isn’t as good as it gets.  He was definitely better playing for Brighton.  He’s a million miles away from being world class.  I’d settle for being good enough to play ina league winning side

He’s not playing well though.

I don’t deny there is plenty of endeavour and he does the press etc well, he’s just not doing it on the ball. I’m not convinced he’s actually doing what Slot is asking of him either.

Elliott would have the same endeavour. I think he’d have more quality on the ball. He just doesn’t have Szoboszlai’s physical attributes, as Neville said last season, Elliott is a bit of a Bernardo Silva player.

I think Jones there makes sense. He’s came into the side as a left winger / 10-ish. I don’t think he has the pace like Mane or Diaz to play there for the first team. Hendo / Thiago / Gini / Fabinho were all more deeper players than Jones, he was being force to play a more restrained game. Maybe this is the position for him? He puts a shift in and rarely wastes a pass, even if it’s overly safe (which might be because of the deeper role). I hope playing him further forwards allows him to be a bit more of the maverick he was when he broke into the side.

I dont get the negativity at all, we have played eight games this season, we are in a great position.

I think we have the best defence and the best attack in the league, our midfield is not that bad either.

Two conceded goals after six games, its fuckin amazing.

I think that is very harsh. A lot of our moves start with Mac Allister, he might not swing the ball around like Alonso did, he plays a role of similar importance.

That’s a very low bar.  He’s been quiet, and completely ineffectual.  We need a dominant midfielder, we’re too easily sliced through.

We've had two golas against - one today that had nothing to do with that.

Think we have 3 shots on goal against each week.

That’s because the defence is playing well, as is Gravenberch.  The rest of the midfield is not doing enough.

Hahahah. Imagine remembering me you little snitch.  He was fucking shite though last season. Let’s not forget quansah was getting starts ahead of him every week from Juergen.

Fair play to him, he’s played well since coming back into the team. More than happy to be proved wrong.  Now wait till I start on that fucking Hungarian

xoxo

Snitch?
