Milan were dreadful. Tomori, Pavlovic, Loftus-Cheek and Fofana were all very weak on the ball and Reijnders was too far forward to get involved. Bennacer was a huge miss for them. And then Leao, Hernandez and even Maignan, weirdly, weren't up for the game at all.

Tammy Abraham caused more problems in his sub appearance than most of the others did all match.

We definitely need to stop thinking about them in terms of the great Milan teams of the past.

Did he? What was that?

He nearly caused Endo to shit his pants after winning a cheap free kick, can't remember much else.

he nutmegged and burnt trent off. and another time got in front of someone (maybe konate) and should have done better and fucked it up.

Think that was Leao who got in front of Konate. Gravenberch then cut out his cross.

Comfortable win after a nightmare start, would've been easy for the players to get their heads down and think "Here we go again" but they responded well and bar a few moments in the second half after we made it 3-1 completely controlled the game. I thought Jota overall was poor. Gakpo and Gravenberch were excellent. Szoboszlai really good in the second half too and got a goal for his effort, which hopefully helps his confidence. Gomez had a bit of nightmare when he came on but fortunately he was bailed out by Ali and his fellow teammates. Darwin again had trouble getting into the game but by that point in the game we weren't exactly playing with a bunch of urgency going forward and a few of his teammates that had been on longer were taking chances for themselves rather than looking to assist. A good performance overall, not perfect by any means but the other team are professionals too. Much much better than the disappointment on the weekend.

Have to say I'd forgotten Jota was on the pitch till he was subbed

Good performance after a sloppy opening 15.

Truth is Milan were dreadful and we didn't really have to work that hard for our goals. 2 set pieces and then 1 pass that went straight to Grav who then set the move off, 3 passes later the ball is in the back of the net.

The 3 Dutch lads were the pick of the bunch.

They weren't dreadful in the first part of the game. In fact they looked for a while as though they were going to keep carving us open. We battled back, and we broke their confidence, and we made them look shite. Honestly, it's like a psychiatric case study on here sometimes: despondency when we lose, and then a rapid move to explain away any positive performance by dismissing the opposition as shite.

Milan are shite, even their own fans say they are shite. They were the perfect opponents for us after Forest. A big name who currently aren't very good.

Really good performance and win, but Milan came out and tried to play football, which left space for us.

More of an acid test for us will be another bus-parking like Forest’s.

In that regard, the way we’re trying different things at set-pieces is encouraging and will be crucial in those games. I think Arsenal have about 25 league goals from set-pieces since the start of last season.

Maybe. I did come away from the game with a "why are we making Tammy Abraham look good" idea. Maybe I was thinking everyone was him!

I think you were spot on. He skipped away from our players twice possibly three times. The whinging was embarrassing though.

They were dreadful, and generally have been dreadful for years.

A few of our players heads not being screwed on properly for 10mins which allowed them to get in behind us doesn't change that.

There is no taking away from the performance, ultimately you can only beat what's in front of you and we found a way to win.......without much of a resistance from the opposition, both things can be true.

Commentator said that 16 points should see you into the top eight; so four wins and a draw from the next seven matches should be enough.

Whatever points it will take, I just don't see 8 other teams in the competition being consistently good enough to finish above us, not gonna happen.

I'd be disappointed if we finish below 5th tbh.
