I’m so glad some cunt brought out a book so we can have it explained to us in excruciating detail why our tight arse owners don’t buy players.

Like it or not, that’s the way the club has done it in the past it’s unlikely to radically change.

If you ignore what’s being said, unfortunately, you’re likely to end up being disappointed the majority of the time.

Ornstein stressing all the things that have been progressed, nothing revelatory really. Maybe his point around getting the internal changes done to get the infrastructure in place for Slot is a good one. Obviously a massive priority and within Hughes' remit and could only really be done post-season.

Not sure it excuses the transfer situation, but maybe the delay around contracts. Still don't understand the Trent one, mind, surely he's such an asset that FSG could have pursued a deal anyway.

Edit: funny little jibe from Pearce at the end though, highlighting November as the real test for the side and telling Anka that united are no longer the benchmark of progress.

Not saying it’ll be easy, it won’t be, we have favourable run of games until the October international break, when we return from that, it significantly heats up…

…although one game at a time, it would certainly be preferable to be going into the October break on maximum points.

Win all our home and away games and we’ll be fine

Daft question… would we have to wait until January to sign Zubimendi?

Hear me out…

The release clause wouldn’t be paid by us to Sociedad, it would be paid by us to Zubimendi.

Zubimendi would then pay Sociedad, buying himself out of his contract and effectively becoming a free agent.

Free agents don’t need to wait for transfer windows to sign for clubs, there is no “transfer” involved.

I’m sure there is something that protects Sociedad, it seems a strange set up they have in Spain. I wonder if anybody has ever tested the waters?

Free agents can be registered until Sept 13th (that was last years date anyway). I don't think Zubimendi falls into that category.

I've not paid much attention to the fixtures. You can't help but love the derby at Xmas.

Pretty clear that Ornstein will be getting the first word on any transfer developments in the future, given that particular back-scratching exercise.

Would be nice if it was an actual purchase.

Very smart people understand buying players is actually a bad thing.

Ornstein popping his Red Sox cap on to tell everyone how great we were in the transfer window is top tier trolling tbf.

Ornstein, Pearce and a goodly proportion of forumites on here should be taken out behind the Main Stand before the next home game and have their heads shaved.

Mane scoring, all around us…

Didnt realise, after the international break, Arsenal play Spurs away, Atalanta away, City home.

Could be a really promising start if we win our two home games the same weekends.

I heard on the radio, city was coming up for them.  To be honest I don't even know who we've got, I'm just aware we're at home twice.

Seems to be some rumours we enquired about Osimhen at the end of the window but were put off by his wages, seems everyone was. Again we are rumoured to be one of a few teams he has a break clause in his deal with Galatasary that he can leave if a permanent move is found. Said around £63ml would do it. If he drops what he wants on wages i could that being looked at if they moved or Darwin asked to be moved on

Osimhen’s behaviour over the last week is a bit of a red flag. Still wouldn’t want to see him at Chelsea or Utd though.

Maybe but after being one of the 2 main reasons Napoli managed to win a long awaited title, then have your own club make coconut jibes about you online and Conte to turn up tell you to fuck off he wants Lukaku instead instead I think he has a right to be pissed off a bit
