Well, that was absolutely fucking beautiful.

IMO, you could tell we were “on it” in the tunnel. VVD & Alisson seemed in a trance, I don’t think either blinked during the whole time the camera was on them, they were like Hannibal Lector.

By contrast, I thought they looked nevevous.

My views we were “on it” increased when VVD was stepping in front of Zirkzee and pushing us on.

The first 15 mins were a bit basketball, after that we began to dominate and I don’t think anybody could say the goal wasn’t coming.

Made up for Diaz, I’ve been strong in my views that his numbers aren’t good enough. The finish for the 2nd was really nice. I sincerely hope he keeps it up.

I thought we became sloppy after the 3rd went in. Mo should have scored a 4th immediately after 3-0 and I was really pissed off with that Szoboszlai fart about, however, I’m not going to let it take the gloss off the victory.

It was a performance where everybody played well. Maybe Jota was below his best, Szoboszlai was sloppy at times and although his performance was good, Trent tried a few passes that weren’t on, overall, I’m not going to criticise.

Kontate & VVD were rarely troubled. Robbo gave Garnacho nothing (he’s more haunting looking than Haaland), midfield bullied the mancs, I know Gravenberch is taking the plaudits I thought Mac Allister was equally as effective, we were a threat the majority of times we went forward.

Beautiful, beautiful stuff. Exactly what we should have done last season.

As for them, if 7-Hag, Fernandes & Neville etc think it was a close game and Salah / us being clinical was the only difference between the sides, then I sincerely hope this level of delusion continues because we were superior to them in every aspect of our play.

Carra made a great point about Rodgers replacing his back room staff and nothing changed and was sacked. He’s completely right, Slot has shown more in 3 games than 7-Hag has shown in 2 seasons.

You could tell Zirkzee wasn’t up for the pace or physicality of the game, he was like a rabbit in the headlights.

Casemiro must have had 15 pints on Saturday and then 3rd helpings of a Sunday dinner before kick off. Despite losing weight, he still looked like Charlie Adam…and I mean Charlie Adam now. What a fat, slow, clearly past it, old man.

I could laugh at them all day, I’d rather focus on all the good stuff we did.

Onwards and upwards. 2 winnable home games up next, let’s keep it going.

The supreme irony of their hatred for us is that we're the only, the only fanbase that truly understands what they're going through.

"All we need is one more player. Ah yes! Michael Owen, he will score us goals!

Or perhaps Paul Ince? The long awaited midfield enforcer foretold in ages past.

Just one more player. So easy. So simple.

But this is how learned the truth about despair. As will you. Then, and only then. You will have my permission to cry.

The breaks had to go on fast when the early mutterings of murderers and the sun was right, started to gather volume, post our fergies right, chant.

Their club, their team, their ground and their fan base are well and truly stuck in the 90’s

Reading their forum and listening to some of their commenters on SM, it seems exactly like how we were in the late 90s and early 00s. They’re in this rut of not seeing what’s going on. Watching some of their fans make combined teams with only two or three Liverpool players in it.

I don't think it is the same. We never really had a team that thought they were above the position we were in, they were always ambitious sides, even when deeply flawed, or held back by the lazy or mercenary. We were defined by clawing our way back, they're defined by conceit.

Every young player they bring through is derided once it becomes clear that they aren't a new "class of 92" level player. Like that wasn't a once in a lifetime thing.

Yeah I agree with that, the mindset is completely different in that sense. We never felt we had the right to be on top. we just wanted to get back to some sort of respectability - but there was always humility there.

The manc fanbase though has always been fairly mercenary, away from their hard core following the outer shells are comprised of people who aren't really into football and only follow them so they can have bragging rights on a Monday morning.

By being shit,  they've broken their part of the deal - it's not what they signed up for all those years ago, i.e I'll buy your bedspreads and figurines if you provide me with the ammo to mask my small man syndrome.

The club's footballing problems though are quite similar. No pattern of play, no strategy, just depending on individuals to be the saviour year after year. Although again, the fundamental difference is that we never had the money to really try it.

It's very, very early days - embryonic even - but Slot might be tactically superior to Klopp.

Maybe not as good a man manager, maybe not as talismanic, maybe not as motivational.

But maybe tactically better.

Just maybe.

Time will tell.

Yes, I've gone early... probably a couple of season early.

They’re one player away from resolving all of their issues, no doubt.

That's not true.  They will sing it (a) whenever they want and (b) in a knee-jerk response to our Tom Hark chant.  We can't do anything about (a), but we can - and, I think, we should - do something about (b).

We'll have to agree to disagree on this one.

I said to my mate while watching the match that after Gary Neville said 'Ten Haag will get until Christmas' he will probably be sacked in the next few days now. Neville is pretty clueless but I think most are because they always have to say something rather than only chipping in when an incident or period of time has passed. I despise this co-commentator shit.

they need to move quick before someone snaps up sir gareth

Their total lack of pattern and tactics astounds me. They're set up as a club the way a kid would set up  their fantasy league - i,e it doesn't matter how you play or where you're positioned as long as you've got Maradona up front.

"Buy player - he'll fix our problems"

"Unearth young player - he'll fix our problems"

If Ten Hag was a Roman general the Legion would come at you in single file and be led by the bloke with the biggest sword.

this is a really weird thing i thought i would never say, but Lampard dissected them very well last night. and what he said fits in almost perfectly with your view. their problem is systematic, but seven hag cannot accept that, so the blame gets put on player quality (or lack of it).

Mainoo was shite, got mugged more than someone walking through port au prince dressed as a wallet.

he's a funny player. it's amazing he's an england regular, when what he looks like is a pretty ordinary kid who potentially has a high level if he is managed correctly. but right now for club and country they are making him look absolutely shite.

Never ceases to amaze me that.  We spoke about that on the pod and really there isn't one who gets in. Neutrals would probably go with Fernandes over Szoboslai and some might try to shoehorn Mainoo in, but those are the only two you could even make any sort of remotely serious case for.

Loads of them loons would have the Butcher on Lilliput in there ahead of Virgil and Garnacho over Mo.

Utterly deluded, but when you hear the shite Neville and Ferdinand come out it's no wonder their fans are like that.

Scholes knows though. He's the only former United player worth listening to when it comes to analysing them. He knows they're shite and doesn't sugar coat it.

Keane knows too, he's just accepted it and since his cheeky sidekick Richards has moved on doesn't seem to want to be the perma-angry old man on the show.

scholes is weird though, it's like every few months he goes out with neville who reminds him it's his job to talk shite and defend them. and for weeks he makes loads of stupid point defending them. then they'll get smashed and he just goes back to talking about the obvious.

Scholes came out with the ludicrous comment that Mainoo is the closest thing he's seen to Zidane. That might be the most ridiculous comment any pundit has ever made.

Loads putting that Mazraoui ahead of Trent, Dalot ahead of Robbo. Fernandez is the one though, because he has moments of excellence they think he is amazing, but he is a megasuperultra shithouse. What a cunt of a player he is. He would probably be the first one out of the door if I was planning a revival of United. It’s the attitude, the hiding, the snide shithousing.

Then there’s Onana (what’s his name?), who is utterly fucking shit. He makes Mignolet look like a genius. His positioning is absolutely hilarious. Watching ‘the biggest club in the world’ have such a bunch of useless bastards is a genuine source of joy.

Another delicious irony yesterday…

Of all the ex-Ajax players on display yesterday, the only one who was any good played for us in Gravenberch.
