Just keeping his fans up to date - some people like to know about these things, you see questions asked regularly about players and whether they were fit/available or not.

He probably won't. I can't see any of the players that were in the matchday squad yesterday being dropped/rested. He is 6th choice attacker, so when the other 5 are fit and available, he usually won't be in the 20.

The reason for Chiesa’s exclusion is his ongoing battle with his fitness.

 

Manager Arne Slot, after the 5-0 win against West Ham United confirmed that Chiesa was ruled out due to fitness issues.

 

He stated, “We are working on match fitness and whenever we can we bring him with the team.”

 

“We thought it would be better for him to have some extra training sessions instead of joining us.”

I'm a huge Chiesa fan, but he is currently 6th choice forward. He'll get time in the cup matches over the next month and it's up to him to show something.

But how many players are short of game time? Jota? Elliott? Endo? Tsmiskas? Quansah?

 

Given he’s likely 6th choice and unlikely to get on, I can see the reasoning behind leaving him at home. 
 

Frustrating, I want to see more of him.

I think it’s best to protect his value by never letting anyone see him play.

Nothing strange about it for me. Slot has a different approach to injuries and comebacks. Even Jota is still getting limited time.

 

Doesn’t mean this fella won’t be an heir to the Aquilani or Keita Throne of Brokenness though.
