He's got that smarmy look of a brother in law who has an Audi and holidays in fucking Sardinia.

Or someone who has gone from working for Bournemouth to one of the biggest clubs in the world because his mate is the boss.

How Hughes got the job based on his record I’ll never know.

Unless we have been looking for a guy who has signed mostly shite.

We know how he got the job. Everyone said it at the time. He's Edwards' mate.

He speaks Italian though, so let's not overlook that hugely important skill.

A shame his father did not work in Spain instead of Italy.

The Edwards appointment provided cover for his appointment. Had Edwards not returned, there'd have been uproar at us hiring some nonentity from Bournemouth. But it's questionable (at best) to what extent Edwards has returned to us.

Incoming transfers at Bournemouth since Richard Hughes joined the technical staff under Eddie Howe in 14/15.

Not sure how long he was the technical director though.

I'm not qualified to judge this.

Rhian Brewster just scored against Wrexham. Have we got a buy back clause?

Brewster just missed a penalty, Tom Ince has scored three goals tonight though.

It is pointless comparing what he done at Bournemouth. His job was to get better players than they already have, their league position would suggest he did. He would have been asked in the interview what players he would have nearly bought if he had a much bigger budget.

Its not really pointless though, that Hamed Junior Traore is the prime example.

As JohnnyH noted, we don’t have a thread to discuss this pivotal figure at the club.

Welcome to Liverpool.

It feels this thread is a few months late and that last line should be in the title. Could you not have started this in February?

Why, is there someone in Italy who doesn't want to join us too?

If this Pedro Marques lad from Benfica is the genius he was widely sold as when he was announced as CEO of football, it's telling he was installed in a position with FSG and this small fish in a big pond was given the DoF role.

FSG have long since checked out, they're too preoccupied with acquiring the Boston Celtics and the Tennessee Twats.

FSG checked out? When did they check in?
