Welcome to Liverpool Martín Zubimendi..

The probable reason he is enticed about us and wasn't about Arsenal or Bayern is because we currently have someone in his position who isn't good enough and is no challenge. It's an easier sell that he'd play every game, on top of the whole "Liverpool is a family club and another Basque guy once played here".

I've worked and lived abroad most of my adult life. It wasn't a big decision for me because I wanted to do it but to compare a multi millionaire who won't have to do anything to your decision is a bit silly.

Yeah, that's my experience. I hadn't planned to go. I listened to what the job was about. They talked me through how life would be over there and it excited me to try it. And by the way, it doesn't mean it's for everyone. Which is why we should probably skip on this lad. If being at home is so important to him (and we don't know if there's family reasons etc), then he should be where he wants to be and not here.

Arsenal is a weird one because Rice is not a 6 but is an excellent premier league 8. If you put Zubimendi with Rice and Odergaard that's a title winning midfield you would think.

Partey and Jorginho are far better players than Endo and they aren't pushovers to displace. Merino seems like just trying to get a different profile.

So you’re basing your experience of moving abroad and deciding that’s how it is for everyone?  I moved abroad and I’d huge decisions to make. I initially turned it down, and then only moved when I was approached again 2 months later and some key circumstances changed.

It’s not straightforward. And the fact this fella had already turned down Arsenal and Bayern shows that.

His decision is in no way comparable though.

He will fly business class just for the medical and it will roll on from there.

Endo is nowhere near good enough and we both know that. We have a massive hole and if Zubimendi falls through we are scrambling with 2 weeks to go. However we had to look at everybody before making the move.

Zubimendi rejects Liverpool. ️The San Sebastian midfielder passes on the offer from the English team to continue being part of Real Sociedad.

The story.

Commence the mewling of the hysterical quims!

Odd take. Every man and his dog knows we need to bring someone in at 6. Hopefully we have a back up because the season starts on Saturday. Slot hasn't been given one player so hopefully he's outstanding because the club has literally given him nothing.
