The Current Far Right in the UK

Couple of conversations with what I'd loosely define as mates recently have compounded my worries about all this. Midlife fellas who get their news through Facebook, have no media literacy, and want to hark back to some imagined good old days are easy pickings for the far right or nutterville.

Would rather they told me they were flat earthers.

They are increasing in numbers and becoming more vocal and emboldened and of course full of more rhetoric - mostly bollocks that they are consuming from facebook, twitter etc and the right wing media and snakes like farage and little tommy ten names.

It is genuinely worrying.

I've never known a time when people had such Airfix kit opinions.

It should be possible to have, say, a left wing view of economics but a right wing view of criminality.

But with this lot, if you know their view on Brexit you'll know their view on Trump, and if you know their view on Trump you'll know their view on Islam, and if you know their view on Islam you'll know their view on Covid vaccines and Ukraine.

Yeah, it's horrifyingly predictable. I mentioned Farage and Robinson - as obvious instigators - and the reply was a domino effect of whataboutery. Muslim grooming gangs, then onto illegal immigrants throwing their passports into the sea, then foreigners moving in to the neighbourhood, pro-Hamas protests, two tier policing etc.

Unsurprisingly they didn't believe in climate change either, because they remembered it being hotter when they were kids. I stopped there.

The weird thing is this type are always sound on an individual level. They'll have mates who are people of colour, wouldn't say boo to a Muslim, and generally are amenable. But when viewing Britain at a systemic level they are batshit mental in their views.

I think age plays a factor too. Some blokes hit middle age, the wife leaves - or sometimes worse, stays - and they feel like yesterday's man. Life has passed them by, and it can't be their fault, therefore the world has changed and left them adrift. If they don't buy a sports car and bang an orange-faced 22 year old beauty therapist they just get bitter and fall down the rabbit hole of social media hate algorithms.

one of the lads put on the group the other day that thing about starmer ensuring illegal immigrants get benefits.

I didnt have the heart to point out that illegal immigrants dont tend to have bank accounts, as a rule.

I really do think social media and the wider Internet is mainly to blame. We've been spiritually dismantled and glued back together.

They give them cash. It goes straight on drugs which they give to white teenagers to groom them into prostitution. Starmer's basically a pimp.

Days after yet another completely preventable mass drowning, that cunt Anderson is spreading racist anti-refugee lies in order to appeal to the kind of shit who were hurling bricks at mosques and police last month.

We have British charities in Calais encouraging these illegal migrants to their camps where they shelter, feed, give them phones, data and learn them to speak English.

I was just about to reply with that. I'm going to reach out to these charities and see if they have time to teach some patriotic MPs how to speak English.

9 years for horrible twat who set fire to hotel housing asylum seekers.

Shit reporting of that on BBC last night.  They kept referring to the fact that some people have commented that the sentences are harsh, without clarifying that the racist cunts saying that are lying about what the sentences are for.

The line is “you get more for shouting at police dogs” whenever someone gets a small sentence for a crime
